Welcome to Phase III: Adopt a Prisoner Program

As you can see the instructions on the flyer, this project is quiet simple as it doesn’t involve much work but will achieve a lot of benefit for our imprisoned brethren and ourselves, insha’Allaah. The aim of our ”Adopt a prisoner” campaign is to get the global community involved, so that these prisoners can receive letters not just from those that write regularly but from others around the world. Some of the Prisoners you’ll be writing to, have probably never received a letter since their imprisonment, so imagine how much it will mean to them when they receive their first letter. They will know that their brethren have not abandoned them in their time of need and Allaah will reward you for this beautiful deed, insha’Allaah.

In terms of the Prisoners you’ll be writing to, it would great if you get to know them a little more, so we decided to create a Profile page for the Prisoners. This will basically help you to know a bit more about them, their case, their condition and help you to write better insha’Allaah. In the next post, I'll be linking a PDF format of the profiles done thus far and there are more to come, insha'Allaah. For a list of prisoners that do not have profiles yet, you can find their addresses here. And please have a look at the ‘Campaigners guide to letter writing and sending goods’ as a guide to help you write - this is also placed as a footnote on the profile page.

***An important note***: We want to make sure that GVfJ does not open doors to any form of fitnah and in order to ensure that, adoption of the Male Prisoners will be restricted to only men, and likewise female prisoners will be restricted to women for adoption. And because there are more Male Prisoners, our aim is to get brothers involved as much as possible and to get them to write to our male prisoners often, insha’Allaah.

If you would like to be a part of this project or have any questions/concerns, please email us at: [email protected]

We look forward to hearing from you.

Waalaykumsalam Warhmatullahi Wabarakatuh

You can send them an email ([email protected])with your queries.

I used to send my letter to a member who practically collects from everyone before he/she pass it to the brother/sister in prison. But it might be different this time. Therefore , it is better that you send them an email.

JazakAllah khair for your interest.

It is very easy to write. I wrote some letters and im already addicted to writing...It does not take long to write 40 to 100 words.

i Have managed to get a reply from them already. They said that they can send for me the letter or i can send it myself.

There are women prisoners as well . These prisoners are held in US , italy, Germany and many other prisons throughout the world

I have already adopted one from Germany....:) He is a revert... MashAllah. They send me his profile and im happy with it...

So brothers and sisters dont hesitate to help your fellow brother or sister. Just email global voice for justice.

If we are not going to help our brothers and sisters , who else is going to do that.

There are sisters also inside the profile. Try emailing them at [email protected]

We need sisters as well. The profile section will be updated as time passes by...

Anyways . you dont need to adopt a prisoner. What you can do is just write to any prisoner( preferably to a sister if you are a sister) and then email to the email above..They will sent the letter to the sister. How fun is that when the sister knows someone cares about her .

May Allah hasten their release !!

Aafia siddique is a female by the way..

Yes, I saw her but she's only allowed postcards. Anyway, jazkaAllah khairan for your help, I'm going to keep looking. I'll also tell my male colleages inshaa Allah so they can mail the brothers. Ameen to your dua and thank you for such a wonderful idea.

I have finished writing about a brother(see above for his profile) who is in prison in Germany. If you want to add on to what i have written, feel free to do so. Maybe you can add just 1 or 2 paragraph , with 30-40 words or more.

PM me if you want to see what i have written.

Sisters are welcome too.

Making dua isnt just enough. We need to tell our brothers that we care for them by written...

Common On, everyone.....
