Healing: What is Islams stand on healing

Hello,

As it is recorded, Jesus healed people, cast out demons, and did many works for the better of mankind. Of course, all in the name of God!

I know Jesus (Peace be upon him) is well respected in Islam. So, I ask what is Islam's stand on healing people in the name of God (with all Thanks to God)?


Note: I wrote Peace be upon him because it came to me and because the Apostle Paul wrote and sent Blessings of Peace and Grace in the letters sent to various churches (Ex. Galatians 1:3). Well, at the moment I consider myself neither Christian or Muslim but, if Paul did this and the Muslims still do it - I respect it.

I have committed myself to saying I choose the one God, God of the Jews - IAM, God of Adam, God of Abraham, Moses, Noah, and Jesus. I'm getting to know Muhammad and may God's will be done. And, I beg God that I live a life that is pleasing to him!

I am not a scholar or a a knowledgeable person. I am sure someone else will answer your question Insha Allah (God Willing).

Eisaa Alaihisallam (Jesus peace be upon) was son of Mary and Prophet of Allah (God). He was given many miracles by Allah (God) and he (peace be upn him) used to heal people by the will of Allah.

Your post reminded me of Warqa Bin Nofal and many other people of Ancient times. Subhan Allah (God is perfect). This was the time when actual/original Religion of Ibraham Alahissalam was corrupted/distorted. People had forgotten about "ONE GOD" They use to worship idles and other objetcs. Warqa Bin Nofal and others (cant remember the names at the moment) they were much sad and grief abouth the forgotten religion of Ibraham A.S and used to pray to Allah (God) about the revival of the religion of Ibraham. They wanted to worship Allah (God) as per HIS own command ...as HE had taught to Abraham A.S.....They were waiting for the Last Prophet.....Muhammad Sallallahu AlaihiWassalam (Peace be upon him)

All prophets from Adam to Muhammad SAW called towards the oneness of Allah...and every one's religion was one and only "ISLAM"

"Each one believeth in Allah and His angels and His scriptures and His messengers - We make no distinction between any of His messengers - and they say: We hear, and we obey. (Grant us) Thy forgiveness, our Lord. Unto Thee is the journeying" (Al-Baqara, 285)

I wont be answering your main question. The most I can say about it is that Quran tells us that all that healing that happened through Jesus was due to the will of God as recorded in Surah Al-Maeda.

(Remember) when Allâh will say (on the Day of Resurrection). "O 'Īsā (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Remember My Favour to you and to your mother when I supported you with Rûh-ul-Qudus [Jibrail (Gabriel)] so that you spoke to the people in the cradle[] and in maturity; and when I taught you writing, Al¬Hikmah (the power of understanding), the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel); and when you made out of the clay, a figure like that of a bird, by My Permission, and you breathed into it, and it became a bird by My Permission, and you healed those born blind, and the lepers by My Permission, and when you brought forth the dead by My Permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from you (when they resolved to kill you) as you came unto them with clear proofs, and the disbelievers among them said: 'This is nothing but evident magic.' " (110)

So we believe that Jesus (Peace be upon him) was a messenger of God and did all what he did through the permission of God and those miracles were given to him by God. We do pray to God to heal but we do not believe that anyone has the power to heal except God alone.

As for saying "peace be upon you" it was not just Paul but it has been the way of the prophets. Jesus (Peace be upon him) himself greeted his apostles the same way.

While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."

Luke 24:36

You last lines reminded me of these verses of the Quran.

And who turns away from the religion of Ibrâhim (Abraham) (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism) except him who befools himself? Truly, We chose him in this world and verily, in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous. (130) When his Lord said to him, "Submit (i.e. be a Muslim)!" He said, "I have submitted myself (as a Muslim) to the Lord of the 'Alamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)." (131) And this (submission to Allâh, Islâm) was enjoined by Ibrâhim (Abraham) upon his sons and by Ya'qûb (Jacob), (saying), "O my sons! Allâh has chosen for you the (true) religion, then die not except in the Faith of Islâm (as Muslims - Islâmic Monotheism)." (132) Or were you witnesses when death approached Ya'qûb (Jacob)? When he said unto his sons, "What will you worship after me?" They said, "We shall worship your Ilâh [] (God - Allâh), the Ilâh (God) of your fathers, Ibrâhim (Abraham), Ismâ'il (Ishmael), Ishâq (Isaac), One Ilâh (God), and to Him we submit (in Islâm)." I a`m amuslim and born in an Islamic country . Regarding your question all the Quran is used as healing to our pain and sorrows ,forexample , Alfatiha verse is used in healing many sick people who have fever ,headaches flue and many more. we just read it on a glass of water and drink it or read it over the head of sick people and by the will of Allah they get better . We read Alekhlas , Alfalaque and Alnass verses three times to protect ourselves from demons . We say Astaghfirullah and Allah give us children,money ,rain and many more. W have many storis of many people use this and mashaalh they became rich and got children although doctors told them they weren`t able to have children .

There is A Verse in Quraan which talks about olive and fig ( والتين والزيتون) this verse talks about fig and olive and the connection between them and the miracle of the creation of people in the best way. They discoverered now eating olive or fig supplies the body with methaloyothneds ( not sure of spelling) . This material makes the body in good shape untill the person becomes 35 then it becomes less in the body Then it start facing old age marks . Then they found this material in fig or olive . when they extracted it from olive alone it didn`t work with the body .They got the same result when working with fig . But when mixing this material from both olive and fig they got the best result ever in saving the body from old age marks .:tti_sister:

Subhanallah , The group discovered this were Japanese they turned into Islam after this discovery .
We have many verses and hadiths we use them for different situations

The source of this information is our news papers and magazines and it was spread all over the world and the one who did this research was an Arab scientist called Taha Ebraheem Khalifa who was doing a reaserch about olive and fig . In the same time the Japanese scientists did .

The two groups got the same results . The Japanese group found that eating 1 fig and 7 olives gives the best result for fighting old age marks .

The Arab scientist Taha Ebraheem Khalifa searched in al Quran and found the a stonishing discovery , that the fig was mentioned in Quran 1 time and the olive 7 times.

He sent this information to the leader of the Japanese group and they turned directly into Islam .
