if they are celebrating the date of birth, then say them:
"all the matter which have been newly introduced into the religion is innovation, and every innovation is misguidance and every missguidance is going ashtray , every going ashtray is going to be in Hellfire "
there is not a single sahih hadeeth that is saying that Rasul Allah salla Allahu Alaihi wa sallam was born in 12 of rabi al awwal.
there is no dispute among scholars that he salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam was born in Monday, and he salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam used to fast in that day.
so whoever wants to show his love and respect to him salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, he should fast every monday, rasul salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, used to do it as a nawafil, and to thank Allah, so we should consider it as a sunnah.
and we should follow the sunnah not once in a year, once in a month, but every week...at our level best.
and Allah knows the best.
