I was free writing the other day and this just came to be. Hope everybody enjoys. :)

IF I COULD BE???

If I could be anything
I’d be the way G-d wanted me to be
I’d be able to see the
Errors of my ways
I’d be strong enough
From the straight path to not stray
I’d be able to see when
I do something wrong
And I’d be able to come back
Back on track
I’d be able to see the facts
I wouldn’t be forced off course
By Shaitan’s blind-full lies
I’d be able to break the three ties.
I’d have full control over my emotions,
Wouldn’t give in to thoughts that cause a commotion
I’d be working to be the best
Fulfilling all my tasks
I’d be acing through life’s tests
But then wait,
Stop,
Are you listening to this?
What nonsense,
I shouldn’t say if I could be,
It should be what I want to be
Nay,
Who I will be
InshaAll-h, one day
Time to change
Changing from today!

wow, we have something in common. Lolz, I LIKE writing poems too and I do it when I have FREE time but since I have joined TTI and FB I dont have that much time:) DARN it! but hey I am learning ALOT and I think it's WORTH it.

I love you for Allah's sake:)

Jazakall-h! and something my sr once wrote. "Like heros, poets aren't born. Nay they are made" Just try and trust me the way I write now and the way I use to write there's a big difference. Practice makes perfect :)

MaashaAllah I liked your poem, and thought it was very true about the "If" statements. We should remember and keep this in mind as well throughout our lives (me especially) because such thoughts are from Shaytaan.

If I could ask about one thing though as I'm ignorant about it, how come in places you placed a dash? Such as G-d.. or All-h?

And just as a peice of advice ukhti, unless we are doing Da'wah with someone who is unfamiliar with the term 'Allah' we should use that in our poems and writings. The word "God" in such a case should not be used. If you look - out of all of Allah's beautiful and magnificent names by which we are told to call Him by, "God" is not one of them. Furthermore, since we know the meaning of the words - assuredly Allah has a greater meaning. It cannot be distorted, cannot be altered to a plural, to any genders, and it cannot have a lesser meaning as the word 'God' can.

I hope you arent offended because I didnt mean it in a bad way, I believe your poem is lovely but simply that you might think about those few words.

GOOD advice sis, Zahrany, you should sure TRY it one day and see what you CAN do. DONT ever say YOU CANNOT because you DEFENATELY can, you just have to believe in yourself:):hearts::hearts:
