It depends on which masjid I go to. One gives the Khutbah in Arabic, then translates to English, and the other gives it only in english, mashallah.I remember when I was there for the Zuhr prayer, and a man dressed in full hijab, all black, full face veil came into the masjid, and we thought he/she was a sister, ya Allah!! Another sister noticed something suspicious when she noticed the hands were a little too rough, and offered him/her lotion, and reported him. The brothers beat him down, subhanallah!! Just dont know these days!:astag:

Asalaamu'Alykum,

The one i used to go to was done in Urdu, i didnt understand it, although i really tried to figure some words of what the khateeb was saying. Then someone reccomended another place and SubhanAllah thats the place i only go to now and the khutbah is done in English. Which is great, its really great as it is like you have been injected with Iman, reflection, understanding and baiscally gets you going and wills you on. Mashallah.

Someome actually tried steal some money out of the donation box at the Islam Bradford Centre, two or three times i think, the times i took my bag i would place it near my shoes and SubhanAllah nothing happend. I dont have to worry about a phone :). Its pretty sad to see our own brothers or sisters would resort to stealing. May Allah (S.W.T) help us. (Although we dont know their situation)

Alhamdulilah

:salam2: Salam, in my mosque the imam gives speech in arabic, rif(the other language that is spoken in Marrocco and in Algeria) and in french. He starts giving a chapter in arabic and he immediatly translate to the other languages. He is a young Imam,he'is about forty. The young generation appreciates quite a lot ,so his mosque is ALWAYS full, even in the sister section where we have two floors.Usually in Brussels the speech is given in Arabic(specially in the big masjid that was built by the Saudis) and then you can have a translation,So you have more oldest people(the first generation).

Ps:is it true that it must in arabic? If yes how we do the reverted people? I mean ,even if i can read and write in arabic, both my husband and I we :shymuslima1: are reverted. So we don't speak arabic at all.

As salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wabrakatuhu
Well for us, basically before the Main Khutbah (which is in Arabic), a brother speaks in russian for local Muslims and reverts. So it helps in either ways because we have a number of Arabs who cannot speak Russian or English.

A MUSLIM BROTHER
it is in English in our masjid. today they announced in our masjid that the prayer room for women is open after there was a theft sometime ago. i was really surprised when i heard it but after seeing these posts i think these were already existing somewhere else as well.

Also can someone please explain me what is this poll percentage. when i voted the calculation says 50% is english. if 50% is 13 then the total poll votes should be 26. where as the total poll votes are 31. there should be some mistake here.
also the total % should be 100 whereas here it is more than 110. i donno if i'm missing a link there or this is someone else's mistake. ( Just curious)
