Is the Bible Violent?

why do u post this video. although we dont bilif in the bible doesnt mean we are to mock it like this. and im sure the versus shown were taken out of context, just like many ppl saying the quran is a violent book by taking versus out of context.

There is, undeniably, violence in both the Qur'an and the Bible. But, chances are, those verses are taken out of context and either way, we shouldn't be ripping on the Bible like that. It's sort of like the pot calling the kettle black anyway because there is violence in the Qur'an. That doesn't make either a violent book and that doesn't make either Christians or Muslims generally violent.

As-salam 'alaykum:

Christians, Jews and the non-religious alike will sometimes attempt to assail Islam by pointing out the violence in the Qur'an, therefore throwing up their hands and saying that "since there's violence in the Qur'an, then Islam must be violent!" I know that neither Islam, Allah (swt), nor the Prophet (phub) are essentially violent - just the opposite. They take the Qur'an totally out of context, and by doing so do harm to themselves and the name of Islam.

We must not sink to that level. We must join with fair-minded Christians and Jews all over and denounce talk like this... it's the only way this world is going to be a better place, in my humble opinion.
