Is this Bida'a ???

Assalam Alaykum sisters and brothers,

My have a question about salaat witr.. I know it has been dicussed many times, however I want to know something still.

As we know there are some different versions of salaat-ul witr. I want to practice this salaat according to sunnah exactly. I know three version accurately but I cant choose any of them because when I pray one type I am thinking other is better, while praying other, next one is better..

So I decided to mix them altogether. Do I have a right to do such a thing?

I ll describe my witr pray and please tell me your ideas about it

First Rakaat: Takbeer, Subhanaka, Al-Fatiha, Al-A'la then rukou, sajdah
Second Rakaat: Al-Fatiha, Al-Kafiroun then rokou, sajda, dua3as, salam

then final rakaat seperately

Takbeer, Subhanake,Al-Fatiha, Al-Ihlas, Al-Falaq, Al-Nas, Takbeer, Dua3a Kunout then rokou, sajdah, dua3as and salam.


I mixed 3 version of witr that I know.. Am I doing a wrong thing?

its alright sis. u r following hanafi school method.

in shafi school, we dont sit or say salaam in 2nd rakah. both are correct.

PS: some say that we have to follow a particular school completely and some disagree.
now that could be another heated debate.

which 3 version do you mean? what you prayerd(last rakah separate)is according to shafii and totally ok.

I don't think anything is wrong with your prayer. This is how most mosques do it here in Egypt. In Saudi Arabia, or at least al Haram, they don't recite the three surahs in the final separate rak'ah, but just recite Al Ikhlas. Anyway, both are ok inshaAllah.

i have the same confusion..so far i do three rakaa without doing the talseem in 2nd rakaa and i read short surah in all rakaa...but my father in law said the best is to do two rakaa of shafa and 1 rakaa of witir..

yes it means in shafa of 2 rakaat u recite kafiroon and a'ala
and in last 1 rakaat of witr u recite al-ikhlas
