MUSLIM UNITY???

esperanza

revert of many years
i put this as an answer in another thread but put it here as new thread to hope everyone will read and think about it

WHERE IS OUR UNITY??

sadly it seems were all losing sight of important things...and that inludes me
were arguing becoming divided judgemental even in this forum

and we complain about muslims unity worldwide

yes muslims should care for and try to help and stand up for the sake of muslims everywhere

we are all quick to judge arabs non arabs /pro western anti western /dictators weak rulers /good muslims bad muslims...

we all have to stop judging and stop raising one country one leader one nation as better

look what one sisterwrote //iam pakistani i am american iam plaestinian iam somialian i am bangledeshi etc. i am muslim .thats how it should be

so lets start here

none of us are perfect, none of us live in perfect countries with perfect leaders,,so we have to accept that and try to improve things..starting with ourselves

may Allah forgive us all and help us to be better muslims ..whether white or black arab or asian reverts or born muslims.....

assalaamu alaikum sister

i see you are little worried...insha'allah things will be right sister...like you said..lets start by changing ourselves...:jazaak:

Allah swt says in the holy Qur'an

surat Al-Imran:verse 103

:bismillah:

" And hold fast, all together, by the rope which God (stretches out for you),
and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude God's favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth God make His Signs clear to you: That ye may be guided."

(translated by yusuf ali )

surat Al-Hujurat :verse 13

:bismillah:

"O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and
made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of God is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And God has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things)."

(translated by yusuf ali)

Our beloved muhammed saws said in his last sermon:

'All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves."

brothers and sisters, this is a serious issue...we live in a time where others are fighting with islam...so how do we counter this and grow if we ourselves stay divided...i urge everybody to think about it....we need to stand up as one...one ummah!!!and not one that is divided by ethnicity, nationality etc..

nationalism, according to me,changes with time....they are borders that can be changed with war or time...what we think is a country may not even exist after a few decades...in another case,we may think that we belong to a certain country, but before long, the land we live in may be within another country's borders..

if we think that we are superior to another muslim because he comes from a poorer country, what if Allah makes his country richer and yours poorer in a couple of yours...remember,brothers adnd sisters, things change..so,we shouldn't be loving nationalism over islam...we shouldnot let it divide our ummah....

and speaking about ethnicity, Allah mentions in the Holy Qur'an in

Surat Al-Hujurat :verse 13

:bismillah:

"O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and
made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of God is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And God has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things)."

This is an issue that needs attention..we have to change ourselves..the change has to come in our ways of thinking....and we should pass this sense of brotherhood over to our children...since they are the future insha'allah...if we bring up our children to be nationalistic in their approach, then (Allah forbid),how can we have a united ummah...

i'm attaching a video in which brother abdul raheem green talks about the dangers of nationalism...

i hope we all learn to stay united and to help each other in times of fitna and participate in each others happiness ;rather than be divided and fight amongst each other, treating each other unjustly and abusing each other..

Assalaam walaikum,

This is in reflection only..

We are so caught up in nationalism that it seems to be on the brink of shirk. We are placing the need for man-made social order to dictate how we live.

The trouble with that is it is secular.

This is not in the arena of politics only. I am amazed. We are worshiping everything but what we need to. It makes me sad and confused.

Muslim unity starts with our Love and Fear of Allah. We have to practice our faith, each and every one to the best of our ability.
