need advice plzz i'm feeling gulity!!

i pray everyone is in the best of health and imaan.........and mood

i've been watching over my converstions with ppl and trying to avoid gheeba but twice it happened that i'd pass a comment or knowlegde about a person which may come under the heading of gheeba.

on sunday a class mate called and the convo turned to the topic of some girls who had bad mouthed her in my presence.she was hurt and wanted to know what they had said.i tried to avoid the subject but lost lol!!

anyways there was stuff i said i kno the others would not want this girl to know about(what they said on her back).i realised what i did and i want to know what i should do???

should i call those girls and apologise....i'm not much friends with them and i got only one girl's number....

do i stand a chance of forgivness without letting them know of what i did???

what if they say it's okay but in their heart they don't forgive me!!

If I am not mistaken the sister was discussing the nasty feeling we hold when we realize we did not hold our tounge. And yes, I know women are guilty of not holding our tounges a little more than men but men are just as guilty of gossip as women. Have you ever been near the water fountain at work?

First of all i think you should tell the female mob who badmouth your class mate that you tell her about the way they were talking about her (is this confusing enough lol) and apologize to them and don't be afraid that you won't be forgiven, leave that matters to Allah, after all they're not entirely innocent.

secondly, tell the mob to apologize to your classmate, let them know that's she's been hurt because of what they said and remind them of the danger of gheeba. btw here's an ayah fits your condition right now i think.

وَإِن طَآئِفَتَانِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ اقْتَتَلُواْ فَأَصْلِحُواْ بَيْنَهُمَا

And if two parties among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both. (49:10)

إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوةٌ فَأَصْلِحُواْ بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ وَاتَّقُواْ اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

The believers are but a brotherhood so make reconciliation between your brothers and have taqwa of Allah that you may receive mercy. (49:11)

That's not Gheeba, sister, that's Shahaada! It is your duty to tell her what was said about her in your presence,
"And do not conceal the testimony. And whoever conceals it, then guilty is his heart" (2:283)

i don't understand akhi i mean they werenot present when i was talking to the classmate.and what they did(gheeba)or said about her was not nice.so isn't mentioning one's bad stuff in their absence a sin.....gheeba.i mean it does create more hate between her and the others.that's not good!!

yes akhi i read the first lines about three times b4 getting what it said.
okay so you think i should call them and apologise.it's not going to be easy but i'll try once i get my answer from akhi ayman1.

jazakallah khairan for the ayah's.i understand what you mean.problem is most of them were at daggers drawn before i got stuck with them.now i got good relations with both,the group and the girl.it's not the first time i heard them talking against each other but it's first time i got myself involved lol.yes i talked to the girl yesterday.but she keeps on saying they smile at my face and talk on my back all the time.so forget it

about the others i dunno.they acutally have difference of opnion about something and simply think the other party is wrong.
