Israeli newspaper, Yedioth Aharonoth, reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intends to inform the US president, Barack Obama, that his government would support the establishment of an autonomous Palestinian Authority, but will not accept a two-state solution.
Netanyahu would tell Obama that a two-state solution in impractical, and that the final status solution should not be based on the outlines set by the government of Ehud Olmert and Tzipi Livni.
The Israeli paper said that Netanyahu's political agenda which he intends to present to Obama in their upcoming meeting will not be coherent with recent US statements, as he does not intend or plan to accept the two-state solution.
Sources close to Netanyahu said that the plan he intends to present to the US administration is based on the following issues;
The resumption of peace talks with the Palestinian Authority without any delay in order to achieve a self-ruling Palestinian government in the West Bank.
Israel is not willing to adopt a two-state solution, in addition to insisting that the Palestinian government should recognize Israel as a Jewish State.
Furthermore, Netanyahu intends to inform the US that Israel is willing to negotiate with the Palestinians on arrangements on the political, economical and security levels.
Netanyahu intends to ask Obama to cooperate in allocating international funding to boost the Palestinian economy, and the security forces which would be trained by US Army professionals.
He believes that infrastructure in the Palestinian territories should be developed before holding talks on “an entity” without statehood.
The “Netanyahu Plan” is yet another blatant Israeli violation to the “should be” internationally guaranteed rights of the Palestinians to achieve statehood and independence on their homeland which is ripped by the Annexation Wall and illegal Jewish –only settlements built on Palestinian lands.
In a recent report, Sror Etkes of the Israeli Yesh Din human rights groups, stated that settlement construction and expansion in the occupied territories isthe largest since 2003.
According to the report, new settler-only roads were paved, news constructions for settlers were built, and new outposts were installed, all of this was mainly carried out without a permit and the constructions were installed on privately-owned Palestinian lands.
The report also indicated that the construction of settlements significantly increased since Netanyahu and his government took office
The US shyly called on Israel to halt the constructions, and to dismantle illegal outpost, yet Israeli leftist and human rights groups confirmed that construction and expansion of settlements had significantly increased.
