Yes! the Iqama is a shorter call to prayer though.

And You pray all of your obligatory prayers AFTER the Adhan. If you live in a country where you can hear the adhan, you wait for the Iqama (Second call to prayer) then you prray.

But since your in Canada you wont hear any , I suspect. so what I do is lets say .......I know Maghrib is at 730pm, I wait for a little while like 5 minutes and then I do the Iqama myself then pray. What I like to do sometimes is have the adhan play of off youtube when a prayer time comes and after the adhan on youtube is done i do the Iqama myself.

And the Witr prayer im not so sure about when you pray it , I know its before you pray Fajr. I think you might want to ask someone more knowledgeable. However, I do know that it is not an Obligatory prayer, you dont have to do it. Its something extra to do if someone would like to get closer to faith and Above All closer to Allah SWT. Allahu Akbar!

Speaking of Adhan I found this to be quite beautiful.

Asalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatu, thank you for your help Brother, this is beautiful adhan. There is also one I enjoy where a brother makes adhan in a church. Insha'Allah when he did this many of the congregation who sat in church listening was awakened by Allah Subana wa Ta'ala and brought to Islam and Salvation. Yes I only have adhan sound from an app on my phone that adjusts to the call to prayer times but no Iqama. I do my Sunnah prayers after the Adhan but I do not recite Iqama before Fard prayer, maybe I should be doing this. Witr prayer is not an obligatory prayer although I believe it is wajib. I have been enjoying Tajjhud prayer for couple months now as this has seemed to get my day off to better start so I do Witr prayer at this time, before I was doing after Isha Sunnah. I do love prayer and spending the time I have with Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala, brings me many times to tears from his love and mercy felt. Has helped me overcome much sadness life is always uphill battle and why we always in need of the mercy and love and strength of Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala. JazakAllah Khairan

I also find on this video of our Brother making Adhan in Church very symbolic that he is in the middle and a Rabbi and Priest is on either side of him, as we know Islam, Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu alayhi wasallam and the Muslim way of Life is the Middle Path that takes us to Jannah.

I want to correct something. You can pray Witr anytime after Isha until the time for Fajr Prayer.

And if Tahajjud Calms your mind then keep doing it and never give it up because its a really good habit.

I have to start praying Tahajjud and I think you encourage me.

Mash'Allah, thank you for answering about Witr Brother. yes is wonderful to try to keep this good habit. I was praying to Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala to give me strength to get up for Tahajjud and started by making effort just on Friday mornings, middle of night, make 2 rakat and witr then go back to bed until Fajr call to prayer because is Holy day.

I was not used to getting up very early to pray so every night at Isha prayer would pray to Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala to give me energy to rise for Tahajjud and Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala knows best and then one night Suban'Allah awoke with much energy and everyday now feel this prayer cannot miss so set alarm and wake up.

At first was waking at same time each morning but then last week felt more groggy so set my alarm to make sure and get up and then when feeling tired this past week on waking in bed pray dua first the waking dua giving Praise to Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala for giving life after causing to die then dua O Allah, I seek refuge in you from hardship, inaction, laziness the burden of debt and the influence of evil people.

Suban'Allah the dua of inaction and laziness pushes me out of bed as prayer is sweeter then sleep, as my spirit cries this, sometimes my body doesn't agree, but asking Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala to make my spirit stronger to overpower my body, Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala is the strength. Insha'Allah this never stops, is very beautiful feeling to pray extra time in early morning hours. This helps to sleep soon after Isha prayer, Alhamdulillah can then wake up easier. When in need of energy and somewhere can not close eyes for 10-20 min nap to refresh, dua to ask Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala for strength to stay awake gives that refresh.

Now as time for Isha gets later and Fajr will become much earlier Insha'Allah waking will still be easy an hour or half hour before Fajr for Tahajjud. Suban'Allah the time will begin to go backward again after Ramadan which will make for easier rising each month as more rest will be given between Isha and Fajr. And Allah Subana wa Ta'ala knows best for each of us when we make dua. Fi Aman Allah

Suban'Allah also what inspired me was feeling guilty I would get up for Suhoor an hour before fasting days but then wouldn’t get up when wasn’t fasting an hour before Fajr to offer prayer. So during Suhoor I would feel guilty. That's when I began getting up to offer Tahajjud on Fridays. Alhamdulillah Suhoor has a sweeter taste now, less guilt :)
