aslam o alikum i got this in the email i think we shud pay attention to it since its important

Assalaam-wa-Alaikum
This is a petition request: Wikipedia has placed a painting of the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad.
They need about 100,000 signatures to remove it. So far a well over 59,057 have signed; if you agree that it is wrong to depict his picture, please sign the petition.

What difference does it make when there are many other websites which are similar. Does that mean we have to generate millions of petitions to gain some courtesy and respect?

sorry accidently got a extra dot in the link
and to answer other question I think its important that we sign this petition, thats not a part of our religion and we should show others that and wikipedia is an important site visited by many people so take 2 sec and just sign the petition

Well in youtube everyone gives their own opinion, Wikipedia is what i think a cumulation of knowledge provided by people, now some will do something out of ignorance so I think we should correct them since you never know when someone might Search Muhammad (PBUH) and wikipedia could be one of the first websites
and I think on youtube and other public sites too we should report the videos whenever we see it So we do what we can on our own.
The main thing is that Allah (swt) knows best, i hope he reward us for this effort inshallah and shower us with his mercy and forgiveness

who came up with an arbitrary number like 100,000 ? does it have to be 100,000? aren't 99,000 enough? or 88,000? or 77,000? this is sick. i need to kill some people to get respect in this world

Who stipulates the actual number of signatures needed? i've never understood that! is it they? or the signers(if such a word exists)
