ASALAMU ALAIKUM brothers and sisters
im 18, male, reverted 2 months ago, living in Australia, completing my final year of school, my parents dont know ive reverted.
my imam has been low lately because ive had a lot of stresses, ive been sick, and i think ive been tested a lot lately as well ! but after asking many people ive come to the conclusion that everyone has periods of low imam and that ive just got to keep doing my religious duties and it will work itself out.
my biggest problem lately however is boredem! i find living in a western country where your surrounded by music, *!*!*!*!ography, lots of haram resturants, etc etc very hard! but its even harder to adjust yourself to this new islamic lifestyle when i used to listen to music, and used to watch *!*!*!*!ography, never used to pray, never used to fast, etc etc. plus sometimes i feel like getting up to pray, and fasting is a struggle sometimes. i used to enjoy reading quran and hadith, but latley i just havent felt the same excitement to go and read quran and hadith plus ive found that you cant just read quran and hadith all the time becuase eventually you get bored. i also enjoy hanging out with my muslim friends but you cant hang out with them 24/7.
so my questions are;
1. how does a muslim entertain him/herself when your at home or out etc?
2. even though i feel bad for sometimes looking at a women in a bad way do you think that allah (SWT) will have more mercy on me because of the society i live in?
3. do you think that watching movies, playing games, that dont have *!*!*!*!ography in them but may have violence and music in the background are haram?
4. (question for reverts out there) do you/did you feel really weird/frightened/out of place at the musala/masjid? even when i go with friends i feel really weird and also i dont like the attention i get from being a revert!
5. does anyone have any comments/suggestions/experiences that could be of help to me?
thank you all in advance!
may allah (SWT) guide us all on the straight path... ameen
