Sunken Core

As the wind blows over my shoulder, I start to think,
What has caused this nation to crumble and sink?
I wonder and wonder what caused this to be,
Which left us helpless, and deep in greed.
The darkness took over our beautiful state,
Leaving us battered, and sealing our fate.
It stormed our lands from shore to shore,
But it was our fault because we opened the door.
We opened the door to let in,
After that we fell into sin.
Slowly but surely we began to fall,
And just like that our nation had stalled.
Our women were raped and our brothers were killed,
And this darkness mission was finally fulfilled.
After that we crept into a hole,
As our Ummah was heading straight for the pole.
We then decided to turn against each other,
Killing anyone who we used to call brother.
We separated our lands with borders and ‘laws’,
While the darkness had us trapped, with its claws.
We left our brothers dying in pain,
While we watched our children getting slain.
The darkness was swift, it lined us up in a row,
And shot its arrow from its poisonous bow.
It penetrated deep within us, leaving us sick,
While it came up with its most sinister tactic.
It made us think that we needed more dunya,
Which lead to names such as Abu Cash as a Kunya.
We then added to the religion which was just so perfect,
Causing branches and sects which left it imperfect.
Imperfect because we were no longer one,
Causing arguments, separation, while the Shaytaan won.
He was winning because he was dividing us,
Making us fight each other, which was destroying us.
We then made deals with him to get further in life,
But in the end, it ended in strife.
We fell on our knees as he was ready to strike,
To poison our hearts and to cause a spike.
To cause a spike in the sins committed,
To do things that Allah had never permitted.
However, there are still those who continue to resist,
To resist their urges and this dunya’s bliss.
For them is Jannah, the final destination,
Which is one of the most beautiful of Allah’s creation.
These people would practice Islam forever,
And hold up high the Islamic banner.
They’ll bring back Islam to its original core,
And relinquish this state from the darkness’s claw.
But for now it is sad to say that we’re still corrupted,
And that the Shaytaan’s volcano has surely erupted.
When would the sunken core be back afloat?
Allahu Ahlam, because we’ve received a smote.
