Assalam Alaikum:
There is one Mr.Dhiraj,a revert to Islam from my city, sharing same parental religion with me. A thread on Riba based educational loan is currently circulating on TTI,in this context I would like to share something about Mr.Dhiraj
I have never come across a revert with such a potential Imaan.MashaAllah. He pursued a bachelors degree in pharmacy before reversion. After graduation he lifted some light and mildly rewarding jobs. His parents were never satisfied with his current progress and they wanted him to amplify his educational qualification.
Mr.Dhiraj succeeded in securing seat in an US university for masters in science. But yet there was problem of arranging funds to carry studies in US. Educational loan is best tool for Indian students inspiring to study abroad and undoubtedly it is interest based. When Mr.Dhiraj was intending to join the masters in US he has already reverted to Islam,Alhamdulillah.
Mr.Dhiraj at once crushed his dreams to studying masters in US because he was an alert Muslim. He dropped the idea of taking out an educational loan which he desired before reversion. Thus he sacrificed his career for sake of Allah.
Mr.Dhiraj just later shifted to Mumbai. Again he could manage a light rewarding job in a medical transcription company. When he filled job application he disclosed his religion as Islam. On appointment to the concerned job,the director of the company investigated him for his religion as his and his parents names were explicitly sounding Non-Muslim. Mr.Dhiraj stood firm and told the director of the company that is a Muslim by birth. Later after a verbal battle with the director the issue of religion was resolved. Mr.Dhiraj lied to the director of the company for only the reason that he could be allowed to offer prayers while office timings. Alhamdulillah, today while job hours he offers his all the prayers.
I would like to add more about him. When he reverted to Islam and consequently learnt to pray,he would leave his home early morning about 4am. walking miles to reach the Masjid ( he used to reside in a Hindu majority area) and pray Fazr.
I had difficulties with fasting in my first ever Ramadan and I missed some fasts too. Mr.Dhiraj, who never fasted before with tremendous determination fasted all the days of Ramadan except one which he missed due to familial problems.
I had fluctuation in my Imaan for acts of some of the so called Muslims. Many times I was demoralized to a substantial low grade of Imaan. Alhamdulillah and Alhamdulillah his Imaan never failed to a test and with span of time it continues to boost up.
May Allah bless this Momeen.
Regards.
