Wasting Time

A regret for the people of paradise will be the time they wasted for anything other than seeking the pleasure of Allaah.

Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنهما narrated that the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم said:

“No people sit in a gathering in which they do not remember Allaah or send blessings upon the Prophet, but it will be a source of regret for them on the Day of Resurrection, even if they entered Paradise as a reward.” [Ahmad 2/463]

assalaamu alaykkum brother,

kindly forgive my ignorance, but i want to know how authentic this hadeeth is.

because i have heard that the people of paradise will have no regret except shaheed who, after seeing their reward, would want be get back to life again to die in the way of Allah.

once again forgive my ignorance as i am still learning.

may Allah reward you.

Seeking Allah's Mercy

Qul HuwaAllahu Ahud!
also i got this from akhi saladins posts:

Among the Hadiths, which Muslim was alone in recording, is a narration from Suhayb that the Prophet said,

(When the people of Paradise enter the Paradise, Allah will say, `Do you want me to give you anything extra' They will say, `Haven't you whitened our faces Haven't you entered us into Paradise and saved us from the Fire' Then He will remove the veil and they will not be given anything more beloved to them than looking at their Lord, and that will be the extra (Ziyadah).) Then he recited this Ayah,

[لِّلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُواْ الْحُسْنَى وَزِيَادَةٌ]

(For those who have done good is the best and extra (Ziyadah).) (10:26)

Assalaam o alaykum,

the regret will be on the day of judgement, not when they are in jannah:

“No people sit in a gathering in which they do not remember Allaah or send blessings upon the Prophet, but it will be a source of regret for them on the Day of Resurrection, even if they entered Paradise as a reward.” [Ahmad 2/463]

wa alaykkum assalaam

thanks for your reply brother,

but my doubt is about the phrase that follows what you have underlined.

so does it imply that the regret will be only on the day of resurrection?? (which ofcourse is enough to be worried about..)

yup only on the day of resurrection...

People WILL feel regret even those who are destined for jannah...

for example those whose sins outweigh their good deeds. they will (unless Allaah forgives them) BURN in hell for a while in proportion to their sins, and therafter they will live happily in jannah forever!

firstly, no need to apolagise, the best way to learn is by asking questions/clarifying confusing matters, as the scholars have said 'the shy students doesn't go far'

as for ur qstn; then it needs a little tweeking; EVERYONE will feel horror/terified on the day of judgement, even the prophets (as) will be worried about no-one but themselves (except for the prophet muhammad (saw)) saying "nafsee nafsee (myself, myself)"

I dont think anyone will know for sure whether they will be in jannah or not on the day of judgment except for the prophets (and martyrs), as BEFORE the deeds are weighed, everyone will feel scared...

So to say "even those who KNOW they're going to jannah will feel terrified" is a blury statement. as only AFTER the weighing of deeds (as a general answer) will people know for sure that theyy are destined for jannah/jahannam...

I hope this has answered ur query...

If it hasn't I do apolagise and plz feel free to ask... Remember a shy student goes no-where!

One shouldn't fel hesitant to ask for clarification, even if one asks 100's of times...

just wanna add something the hadith above is Narrated by Ahmad (2/463) and classed as saheeh by the commentators according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs (al-Bukhaari and Muslim), and by Shaykh al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah (no. 76)

and there is also this hadith which i forgot the authenticity and haven't found the takhrij for it but it is well known and always used when explaining about the virtue of dhikrullah

Mu'adz ibn Jabal رضي الله عنهه reported that Rasulullah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم said,

“Those who are admitted into paradise will

not regret over anything of this world,

except the time spent without Zikr in their life.”

which is this line
even if they enter paradise as a reward..

it says even if:confused:

hope you know what i'm asking??

so if we combine the two above can we say:

ppl of paradise will have no regrets but wasting their time.

but in this ayah it seems like as if they will have nothing to regret.the one in lowest jannah will be just as happy as the one in highest.that's what i understood from the thinkg about having eternal hapiness and peace in jannah.

yup, IN JANNAH there will be eternal peace and security, but before that... there is no guarantee...

Sorry I don't think I quite understand your question...

Basically, it says how people (as a whole) will feel regret on the day of judgement for 'not remembering Allaah'.

And this includes the believers and the disbelievers...

Its like saying that people wil be punished for their sins, even if they end up in jannah (to live happily and peacefuly THEREIN).

Peace and happiness is in JANNAH, once your in, ulhumdulillaah... (So u can now go and be romantic with the gorgeous Hoor Al-Ayn! lol) But outside of the border gates of jannah is punishment and no GUARANTEE of safety...

There's an ayah as well (cant remember the verse number) where it says something like "and a wall be set up between them, in it (the walls) will be peace, the outside of which wil be punishment" Or words to the effect...

Inshaa Allaah this has clarified your question, if not PLEASE ASK
