Hello sisters,

I need some help.
I need safe sites with good prices on Abayas, Hijabs and prayer rugs.
I've searched via google, but the sites either a) look untrustworthy or b) are HIGH!

I'm not wealthy, I cant pay more than $40 for one :girl3:
I'm looking for plain black or brown abayas & Hijabs :hijabi: ...Not picky on the rug style xD Because as of now, I use a kitchen rug from Wal*Mart.

Post some sites :D

EDIT:

A friend showed me this site: http://www.eastessence.com/index.php?p=home LOVELY!

Assalaam walaikum,

One of the things I have not been able to figure out is this: We have millions of Muslims..they say we are a billion strong. Why do they charge us so much for our clothes.

Now that I feel better...

I found a brother who gives me a discount...and I have many sisters at the masjid they give me stuff. Alhumdullila.

You can do a google search Islamic clothing. Go to the clearance section of the sites. And always make sure you understand the sizing. There are many many sites. Read what the customers have written. ( I find the English based sites to be very expensive.) You can refine your search to modest Islamic clothing and go to the clearance pages.

We are discouraged from giving site names. However for the inexpensive hijabs...try ..www.hijabgirl.com.

Good luck.

Assalaam walaikum,

Just remember to pay attention to the size charts..and go a little larger...hate to wash something and it shrinks.

I window shop all the time... hijab girl and eastern essence are two I'm constantly looking at (sad, I know). I also check out: http://www.starscarves.com/

I think hijab girl is the cheapest though... If I find any more I'll post them.

I have bought some men's clothing from here:

http://www.alhannah.com/

They are very nice and polite. When my 2nd order went astray they were right on it and got it fixed within a couple days.

I have a friend who has purchased (once again male) clothing from here:

http://www.shukronline.com/ but as I'm a chubba I can't fit into any of their clothes so I can't tell you how good they are :). But I can say my friend is pleased with their quality.

However I must warn you do NOT buy from Essence of Black
http://www.essenceofblack.com/

They are all over the 'net as being scandalous and will take your money. I ordered 3 thobes from them just before Hajj last year and never received them, regardless of how many positive reviews they have.

So I can't refer female clothing but I can refer good Islamic websites. Hope they help.

(Edited to add: When Essence of Black defrauded me out of 78 dollars I asked my shaykh if warning people about an Islamic website were considered backbiting and he said "No" as long as I gave them ample notice & opportunity to fix their errors, and what I do is for a warning and not deliberate slander)

buying things online costs very much.

till now I think I have never bought anything online except paying my credit card bills, other utility bills and books only once.

whenever i see something online it costs so much so I know stores where I can get the same things even better and also after seeing I can buy cheap.

Shurk Allah

I know in America and other western countries online shopping is common but I would advice my brothers and sisters whenever possible go to the stores see the product for yourself and then bargain and buy.if it is fixed price then even better :)

The best store for me is www.sunnahstyle.com
Their abayas are large and plain .
Also sister check their blog and you will see there is something called factory seconds section ,where they put some abayas that have little defects for very cheap price .You can find a $50 abayas there sometimes for $15 ...
They have nice and large Hijabs also ..
DO not buy from essence of black
I didn't have good experience with www.Hijabgirl either ..
Khimars are low quality and see through ,the same for some Hijabs that I ordered ..

salam

Can sisters also add some sites in here that sell not just hijab/abaya, but also modest clothing like long skirts, tunic shirts (not Indian kurta tops, I have enough of those. I'm looking for something formal to wear to work) etc??? Even if they are non-muslim sites, but they have modest clothing, its good. :)

You can make khimar/hijab by yourself

I have knitted some winter hijabs to myself too.

I agree- there are many 'questionable' sites online- you don't know if they are even still trading until you order from them. Then it can then be very difficult to get your money back.

A newish one is KhaleejiAbaya.Com

As well as the usual abayas, they also sell long cardigans to wear over the abaya and occasion wear outfits. They have a big sale on at the moment- the cardigans are excellent quality stretch fabric and only $23!
Yes you will have to pay shipping from the UK but it is reasonable and it says on their site that they don't make a profit from shipping so will refund you if you are overcharged.

If you are looking for a quality abaya, I can recommend this one: http://khaleejiabaya.com/umbrella-abaya-plain
It can be machine-washed and will last for ages and ages. I recommended to a few of my friends, for work and uni, and they also agree.

Delivery is very quick and sizing is simple.
