The site has been blocked in many places. The USA is trying to hunt down Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, because it received secret information from an American soldier that was not happy with what his country was doing overseas.
The information is really secret and damaging to the reputations of many countries. Some people call Julian irresponsible because these open documents have and will damage the relationship between different countries. And others say that he is a hero, and that information like this should be made public because it is good to know what governments and big businesses are actually doing, and not what they are just saying. I am in the second category. Julian Assange and Wikileaks are both heroes in the world of journalism.
Wikileaks has revealed a lot of videos and documents showing how American soldiers have killed innocent civilians, including women and children, in Afghanistan and Iraq. There are quite a few of his interviews on youtube, and one good answer he gave in one of them, when asked by a CNN reporter "Who are you helping? The USA is angry at you, Karzai (Afghan leader) is angry at you", he replied "the Afghan people. They now have the information to make the decisions themselves and understand what is going on in their country".
Anyways, the latest Wikileaks articles have revealed some negative information on certain governments. This thread might be closed I think. If it does, I will be thinking about sister_harb's other thread about "independence" in Finland and the two candles that are still lit.
