Hello, Everyone!

May Allah be pleased with us all.

I am a woman who comes from a Christian background, and my life has been filled with much searching. I have looked into Islam on and off the past year, and am not ready to make a final decision.

Much rests on that decision-- my marriage, my family, and my future. I am almost 25 years old, have been married to a Lebanese Maronite Catholic man for nearly a year, and currently have no children. I am a stay at home wife, but I do work as a "Mother's Helper" for my friend and her 4 children 1 or 2 days a week.

I am not sure what I expect to find, or to happen, as a result of my exploring Islam, but I am attracted to the beauty of Islam as a way of life... the way Muslim women dress, their modesty and femininity... things of that nature. I still have arguments to work out, issues I wrestle with, and perhaps that can be taken care of through this site.

For now, I ask for your prayers, and if there are any ladies who have reverted to Islam, and you have a few spare moments, it would be so wonderful to make your acquaintance!

Salaam and welcome. Each person has to walk his or her own path at thier given time. Allah will open the portals to you as He wishes. If the desire is there you will see signs everywhere.
Never apologize for what you are doing in life; this is the time in your life to reflect. This is a serious time in your life. Take your time. Ask questions. And as Allah knowns I respond to everything on this site. I know I drive people crazy.
One reccomendation I have is very simply place objects that remind you of Islam in your home. As you change your spritual direction if you have concrete reminders it makes it easier. Incense, is a must. Have flowers and candles...please get a copy of the Holy Quran...it does not have to be in view...but trust me at times when you hold the Holy Book in your hands you get courage. Buy olives and dates. They are good for you. Slowly get rid of your western clothes...and let us know when we can celebrate with you and for you.

undoubtedly islam has changed my life completly, there are good times and bad times. never the less the decision to become a muslim was the best I ever made and will never regret.

I will give you some questions. Insha Allah answer the questions for yourself. Give this answer a place in your heart and insha Allah the truth will win the battle inside your heart.

Will your family, your husband help you when you are in your grave? Do you think they will be with you all the time?

Like we know everyone will die. The kings will die, i will die, you will die. Yes we all will die.

Allah says : " كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَِ "

translation of the meaning: " Every soul shall have a taste of death in the end to Us shall ye be brought back" [Al-Ankaboot verse 57]


The day of judgement

Do you think your family and your husband will help you on this day?


Allah says: "يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَِ إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍِ وَأُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَِ وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَِ وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَِ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَِ

translation of the meaning: " The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart;To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped- 'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? "[Al-shuara verse 88-93]

I hope insha Allah you will be a muslim in the future.

Thank you also to everyone who has added a post to this thread. I am so glad to have found people who care about religion as a way of life and who care about the well-being of others.
