Are we preparing for Hoors of Jannah?

:salam2:

brothers...are we working to earn Allah's pleasure and company of Hoor-al-Ayn in paradise?

Apart other duties of Islam, we have to forego the beauty of women in this world (except wife). so that means no unnecessary chatting, dating, gf's, physical relations, etc.

"If one of the women of Paradise were to look at the people of this world, everything in between them would be lit up and filled with her fragrance. The veil on her head is better than this world and everything in it." [al-Bukhaari]

"al-Hoor al-'Eeyn are singing in Paradise saying, "We are the beautiful houris, we are being kept for noble husbands."" [Saheeh al-Jaami']

"And [there will be] Houris with wide lovely eyes [as wives for the pious], Like unto preserved pearls." [56:22-23]

PS: sisters feeling jealous? :) They should not bcoz thy will be superior to Hoors. And also by desiring hoors, their husbands will not run after other girls.

Rasûlullah :saw2: replied, "The women of this world will have superiority over the hûrs just as the outer lining of a garment has superiority over the inner lining."... "Because they performed salâh, fasted, and worshipped [Allah]. Allah will put light on their faces and silk on their bodies...".

or maybe men should just control themselves and remember Allah SWT is watching. This idea of needing a constant babying of promises of sexual beings is really not necessary. A man should be able to hold his own regardless of promise of extra women or not. Be pleased with your wife and focus on the straight path. A Muslim is forbidden to "run" after girls whether there are Hurs or not!

HURS

ITS EASY FOR A MAN TO SAY DNT WORRY ABOUT THE HURS ETC THEY DNT CONCERN THEM, WELL WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER EARTH WOMEN WOMEN WOULD HAVE TO SHARE THEIR HUSBAND WITH???? WHY DOES JENNAH SOUND LIKE A WOMENS HELL???? WHY IS IT THAT FOR MAN JENNAH IS MADE APPEALING BUT FOR WOMEN EXTREMELY DISTRESSFUL, I THINK THE BROTHERS SHOULD IMAGINE THEY ARE IN THE POSITION OF A WOMEN, THE MEER THOUGHT OF SHARING YOUR HUSBAND IS UNBEARABLE AND IF MEN WHERE IN THE SAME BOAT THEY WOULD NOT BE SO QUICK TO DISPEL OUR FEARS AND REDUCE THEM TO JEALOUSLY!!

Sister, that's not the best way to put it. I too get jealous, as does every sister. But you shouldn't say Jannah "sound like a women's hell'. That's a pretty dangerous statement....

Just control your emotions like the rest of us. And don't insult anything...cuz you don't wanna speak bout what you don't know. And some men probably dont want hoor in jannah. Did that ever cross your mind?

Well....just relax.....

Sister calm down lool. Men that enter Jannah are promised these beautiful women of Jannah. Personally, I don't care so longs the man I get married to doesn't take a 2nd wife in this duniya :D A sister asked a shaykh regarding this and about jealousy. The shaykh answered that the people who enter Jannah would not have such characteristics, such as jealousy, or evil thoughts, argumentative etc. These may be natural within humans, but Allaah will take away these feelings away from the people of Jannah.
Plus, imagine if you go jannah, will you be concerned with what your husband is doing or how he is enjoying himself? Of course not! Your in Jannah!!!!! You will have better things to do InshaAllaah. Imagine, in Jannah you get what you want and can do things you could of never done, e.g. flying or breathing under water lol sounds crazy but I'd love to fly InshaAllaah in Jannah. Lol, I'm talking as if we're guranteed Jannah when that may not be the case. Right now and I remind myself firstly, we should be concerned with how we ourselves can enter Jannah. May Allaah grant us all paradise.

My husband, ( uncomfortably knowing that hoors and wives will be on offer to him) prays perhaps daily that it is only he and I in Paradise. He has also asked one of his brothers to pray that he not have any hoors in Paradise. Yes I sometimes feel very upset about the fact he can have hoors. But my husband has told me strongly (fearing my sadness) that he is opposed to the idea and prays it is he and I only for now and forever Inshallah.

I just converted a couple days ago. This means suddeny I have a major concern for what happens in Paradise. Really,, I was so shaken, distressed, about to look at my husband as if anyday now his arms would be around another woman (hoor) and it would all be acceptable to God. I sounded miserable to my husband as I told him of what I had recently learnt.

My poor husband was desperately trying to think of a thousand different ways to reassure me. My favorite answer was "Darling, its like in Paradise you'll have a remote control.. and everything you want you'll have. I only want what you want. Really - you'll have remote control"

After about 30 mins I started to forget about it and just want to focus on the now and pleasing God. Sometimes I bit of fear rises up inside me but I just remember my husbands words.

Hope these private thoughts help you sister.

:salam2:+ Brother Indian. I feel people from the india and pakistan talk too much about hoors. First there is no physical relationship in heaven. Your wife will be thee most beautiful of hoors if she is with you in heaven. So you dont do good deeds to get hoors. You do good deeds so that you can be in heaven and have the pleasure of seeing Allah. There is no pleasure that is more than that not even the hoors. And most important you do good deeds so you could be in heaven instead of hell fire.

salam aleikum

We have to strive to deserve pleasure of Allah and to be saved from the Hell Fire ..
Who said Paradise is easy ? Nowdays we Muslims are so confident we are going to Jannah .
Even some Sahaba were afraid they won't deserve Jannah ,even Umar (RA) wasn't sure if he was deserving Jannah .
SubhanAllah ,look at us .Where is humility and humblness ?
We have to strive to do good deeds seeking pleasure of Allah .We have to be humble in our actions ..Everything is for Allah only ,our worship ,our prayers ,deeds ,our sacrifices are for Allah only and not for things you get in Jannah .Allah is first in every thought ,in every action...

And for the sisters who get jealous of Hooris in Jannah ,think who do you love more ? Is it your precious husband or Allah Subhana wa Taala?
You will be near Allah ,your Creator ,then why to worry about anythingelse .Jannah is something that no human eyes have seen and something that we never imagined ,then why even to think and worry about something we can't know right now ..

waaleikum salam

I had written in earlier posts that I want to be 'number two' in my husband's life and God to be' number 1'. I pray that God is number 1 in my life and my husband is number 2 in my life and check my heart quite regularly in an earnest attempt to make that so.

Humility is the one aspect I have been mostly focusing on the past year of my life. God does not listen to any soul that is not humble. Pretty important.

Jealousy is not an emotion to flick off lightly. It is best to help someone through that emotion.Or better still, that person pray to Allah about that emotion. It is no flippant/foolish type of jealousy if it is of another women with one's husband. Of course it is a difficult concept to wade through. Especially at the beginning of conversion or marriage.

I write this because, even if a woman is MOST humble and MOST fearfull of hell, and seeks Allah with ALL her heart there will be times when some women will wonder (especially me as I just converted), maybe have fear, maybe be excited etc.

I believe it is our responsibility to encourage and listen to others kindly giving guidance and being most sensitive to their emotions. People need people, God designed us to have relationship with each other. I believe any Muslim or soon-to-be Muslim has God at the top their heart, Inshallah forever.

Nicely said. I enjoyed reading this :) (I'm a guy btw, not sure if you are too, might look at your profile after this to check).

Have you heard about Bilal Assad? He gives lectures in Melbourne, Aussie :)D). Some are really good like "Ahmed the Repenter". Anyways, he has also done a set of lectures on Heaven and Hell. In one of them, I remember saying that Allah has things for women in heaven too. But perhaps they are not explicitly mentioned as it may redden women in the face now or take away from their shyness. And then he said "Allah knows best".

Listen to the lectures.

And just remember, in heaven there is no pain or jealousy. You will only be happy and get whatever you wish. So don't worry about it. If you can get there inshAllah, the rewards there will always make you happy.

Uhm, To me I don't think that it's really all that important. I think the best part about jannah is all the fun and happiness it will be endless. I personally think it's alot more fun exploring and being with your spouse and doing everything together is better than having a hoor. Again, the fun things to do their are endless.

Scroll down on that link. There are 3 parts to the Hell lectures. And 3 parts for the Heaven lectures. I listened to them in mid 2007.

Yeah, he gives lectures every Friday between Maghrib and Isha. I forgot which Mosque it is .. it's not Falkner. I was just in Melbourne a few weeks ago. And he was going to give a lecture at a gathering on a Saturday morning, with visiting Sheiks from the UK and the Middle East. I couldn't go though, I was flying back home.

I wonder if it's appropriate to ask a lecturer for their autograph....or if make a CD out of some of his lecs and get him to sign it loool.
