Assalam Aleykum everyone. Thanks for all the replies and links, it all really helps a lot!

Tomorrow is the day. I really hope it goes well this time... I'll post the result as soon as possible!

Again, thanks for your attention - hopefully this is my last post saying this!

I failed again... Wow.

My driving was great, but in the end he wanted me to do a parallel parking which I didn't do properly. Then he failed me because of that.

I'm extremely mad and sad right now. I see no reason for me to fail when my driving is near-perfect. Why do I have to suffer like this?!

Assalaam walaikum,

OK...now just practice parallel parking. It is an important driving skill if you live in a city.

Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe," and will not be tested. And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test).

Assalam aleykum again, everyone! Hope you're doing well.

My next test is on Wednesday. Hopefully this is my last one. May Allah help me pass the third time.

I got my instructer to sit in the car during the test. There's a good phsychological effect towards the examiner who due to professionalism will less likely fail you due to any tiny or stupid reasons.

Anyways, that's how I passed, all praise to Allah(swt). May you pass aswell, Inshallah.

Thanks, guys. Today I was driving (with my teacher) around the place the test is gonna take place. This is a different place than the last two times, but I think it's a bit harder, unfortunately.

May Allah help me on Wednesday.

Well obviously if you didn't park properly it shows you should fail because you're not prepared.

I hope you pass next time inshallah!

I passed last Friday Alhamdolillah alhamdolillah.... you should feel absolutely comfortable behind the wheel and in parallel parking and everything before you go to drive test. ( I am amazed though that you can get next appointment so quickly....here in Melbourne (Aus) we have to wait for months for the next appointment). you also know about the area even before the test....that is a big plus...we never know which way they will take us to. there are about 12 test routes where I went for test.

Only one tip....practice pratice practice in the drive test area. Do a lot of reverse parking

I also practiced in the area right before the test time ...and it was a real help.

And a lot of duaa.....whole day, every day, everytime. I read all the duaas(from the book hisnul muslim) which are suppose to be read when in distress, in difficult times, and duas containing 'Ism-e-aa'zam'.... make dua in sajood....make dua in tahajjud....and offer two rakah before leaving the house for the test. Please note that I did not pray Salatul Hajah (As per my knowledge it is not authentic). I prayed 2 rakahs so that i can make dua in prostration as this the position when we are closest to Allah Subhana Wataala'.

and at the beginning of the test leave everything upon Allah, take a deep breadth, and do your best.

May Allah grant you success in every affair of dunya and aakhira.

:wasalam:

Majzoob's wife

PS: Reciting this dua over and over and over always always helps me a lot and calms my nervous down

O Allaah, I submit my soul unto You, and I entrust my affair unto You, and I turn my face towards You, and I totally rely on You, in hope and fear of You. Verily there is no refuge nor safe haven from You except with You. I believe in Your Book which You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom You have sent.’

This is one of the supplication before going to bed....BUT I read it often (In arabic of course)

Salam again.

After all the dua I've done the last couple of weeks, I still can't manage to pass! That's right, I failed for the third time.

I'm starting to give up. I don't know what to do. I guess it just wasn't the right time yet... :(

Assalaam walaikum,

Son,

Several things.

One, you have to believe in your dua. There is no magic. That is work. You must trust your words.

Two, you can not let anyone see your fear. If someone senses your fear they act upon it. Strength, Belief in Allah, removes the fear from your eyes.
( You-tube some of the current warriors of Islam and look at the intensity of their eyes, the total focus; nothing distracts them from the task...take a moment and read Brother Ditta's post on the Companion of the Prophet. )

Three, next time you take the car for a spin practice the areas that made you fail. Over and over again. Be determined to strive for excellence. Make it a game. Pretend you are a pilot for some dumb video-game. Seatbelt on..check. Adjust rear mirror..check..Seatbelts on passengers..check. Ignition on...check. Make sure you do everything that you have to do right.

Wa'alaykum Salam.

Akhi I think you're rushing to pass. TYT and practice more to improve your driving skills.

Making du'aa isn't enough- you have to seek the means. If I want something, I have to work and pray for it.

Be patient brother. Inshaa'Allaah the right time will come.

How long have you been practicing? I, too think that you are rushing to pass as sister Kakorot mentioned. Drive more and practice more.

(Assuming there's always a pro who can supervise) I suggest that you drive often and I'm not just talking about 'getting in the car with the intention of practicing and driving around your neighbourhood' rather drive when you need to go to the supermarket, the post office, the mall, a family friend's house, the take-away shop etc..that way it feels more natural and you're not pressured. That way, Inshaa'Allaah by the time you take your next test, you feel more comfortable. It really works for me alhamdulillaah! Although, I don't have my pro license yet due to laziness :p but I'm from a small city in a developing country so getting a driver's license here is just for formality's sake heh.

Going back to you, inshaa'Allaah take your time akhi. There's a lot more to learn really. Remember, it's not enough to just pass but we have to strive to be good drivers as well.

Wa alaikum assalam! I hope your Eid went well, and I understand how nerve-wracking it can be to prepare for the driver's license test. If not, there is an option with https://drunkid.com/buy/star-id-alabama/ there you can get a driver's license without tests. I am here to give you some words of encouragement and support. Remember, it's normal to be nervous, but if you work hard and prepare, you will do well!
