And I officially took Shahada on October 7th, 2011. My name is Jason Jadloski, I reside in Warren, Ohio and I'm turning 19 in less than 2 weeks. I am completely happy with my choice of accepting Islam and I'm currently in the process of learning the prayer. I will practice the prayer as much as I can and then add wudu. Washing is fairly easy but I want to learn as much as I can to say the prayer. Once I know the prayer I'll start washing and then I'll be trying my best to make prayer 5 times a day. I would also like to let people know that I also go by the name of Miraj Abdullah Hashim around my new Muslim friends and those at my local mosque. Inshallah I will grow in knowledge of Islam.

Also, I'm not sure how far warren is, i never been that way bu if you are near cuyahoga falls, check out isak community, it's a great community to be part of.

Regarding your name, you should keep your last name and not change that. You are not allowed to change because then you are lieing about your lineage and who your father is. Islam protects all this. This topic has been discusses on this forum, you can search for it.
