The "Great" Nation--MUST READ!

Asalam 'Alaykuum,

This is a poem I composed a couple of months ago. I hope you guys like it inshallah. Anyway here it is:


The “Great” Nation

We were the nation of honour, the nation of Tawheed.
We were the people of haaq, the people of strength.
The truthful, the defiant, the dedicated.
O Muslims!!! Are we great today?

We’re great in number, yet great in division.
We’re great in wealth, yet poor in faith.
We’re great in desire, yet weak in sacrifice.
O Muslims!!! Are we great today?

We’re great at taking, yet weak in giving.
We’re great in health, yet sick in knowledge.
We’re great in history, yet pathetic in the present.
O Muslims!!! Are we great today?

Our blood is shed all over the world,
Yet our ‘leaders’ seem to be cold and curled.
We say we’re firm but that is not,
For we are down as if we’re shot.

Shaytaan has come and invaded our lands,
But all we did is greet with our hands.
Our flag is down, but not forever.
Just until our desires are over.

Our Ummah was brought down to its knees,
and after that we sat in defeat.
Our honour sunk, right to the ground.
And now we’ll sell it for as little as a pound.

We look at desire like its gold,
But we will pay as foretold.
Our backs are turned against each other,
And just like that, we have no more brothers.

O Muslims!!! Get onto your feet.
Because if you don’t we face defeat.
So come O Muslims back to truth,
And you truly will be taken out of the sleuth.​
