As mentioned by one of the brothers who is aware of the situation in KSA.

Sh. Munjid is very respected Shaykh in KSA. However, the kingdom started to witness very odd Fatwa from unknown and known "shaykhs". For this reason, the country issued a law forbid anyone from giving fatwa and that fatwa should be taken only from the responsible fatwa authority i.e. the Lanjah al-Da'imah.

The aim of this step is to organize the Fatwa instead of the fatwa shopping happening these days and the new names appear as shaykhs. Off course, this law applies on good and bad fatwa sites and people and everyone should abide by the law. I think this is a good step and it does not restrict teaching knowledge or anything else.

And I would hope that we start posting threads that we can gain some knowledge. Threads like these are only going to make people come up with assumptions and blame country XYZ with no concrete evidence.

Up to now, me and other brothers that use to take fatwa from Islam Q&A, have not seen fatwa that goes against Islam.
All I have seen in that web-site, is argumented with proofs from the Qur'an, the Sunnah, Sahaba, Tabeen, and fatwa of respectes scholars of Islam. if there exist already a fatwa from the comitee in Arabia Saudita or from early scholars, they take them.

Then there is another thing, I find it the only web-site that deals with problems enountered in western societies. So I see it the most prepared fatwa web-site, for contemporary issues.

It has nothing to do with that. Such a slander is incorrect and people should fear Allah before they make such statements on their own.

There are some posters on Salafitalk who are known to have engaged in error hunting and being over the top in criticizing our scholars. The site however is good for refutations of known deviant groups etc.

But to criticize mainstream scholars and reach far fetched conclusion such as calling them Ikhwanis or out of Salafi dawah is erroneous and a slander. Our scholars have warned us against such practice and indulging in such matters.

They haven't even spared scholars such as Abdullah Al farsi hafidullah. So I would advise you to not read much into what they mention about our mainstream scholars.

If we tread such a path, soon enough we will have little to no scholars to gain knowledge or benefit from.

May Allah guide us and our brethren in faith. Ameen
