misconceptions that many non-Muslims have about Islam have to do with the word “Allah

Assalaam walaikum,

I read an interesting pamphlet ( I got the link from TTI; they mailed me a stack of books).

The Jews worship the God of Israel.
The Christians worship the God of Israel that the Israelites did not include in the sacred groups of worshipers.
Thus by definition the scope of the God is very limited.

And Muslims worship the God of the Worlds. The inclusive God.

The people of the Book and we Muslims worship the ONE GOD - the Creator of the Universe and every thing in the universe belongs to him

Assalaam walaikum,

I had thought so, too. I will dig up the book and give you reference. The People of the Book changed. Thus Allah sent us the Light and Mercy to the World. The Prophet was sent on a mission to the entire world. Islam is universal.
It is equal opportunity for everyone.

Judaism limits the role of God. The Jews are the Chosen Ones. There is no room for anyone else.
Christianity conflates Jesus with God. I really get confused with the Holy Spirit.

Islam rectifies the confusion and reminds us that There is no God but Allah. He is the Lord of All Creation.

A sister yesterday waqs giving me a wonderful lesson about Arabic and she taught me this.

Al=The
Lah=God...

So, together, AlLah (Allah) means "The God". Not "A" God...but THE God.

I thought it was fascinating.

the word "Allah" can be translated in maybe more than 150 languages,but whoever recognizes in Islam the truh,will certainly know that Allah is the universal word which indicates the unicity of Allah!!!La ilaha illa Allah,Mohammed rasulu Llah.When Allah created Adam,when he sneezed hìs first word was "Alhamdulillah".By consequence,the arabic language has an ancient origin,while the other languages came after.Do you image Adam saying Alhamdullilah in Italian???there is only one divinity and He's Allah:wasalam::shake:

Al + Ilah= Allah

Al= The
Ilah= Unique, with no associates in worship, in attributes, in power, in everything.
