Assalamu Alaikum:

A Thread about weakening Imaan of a revert sister was posted yesterday which fueled me to share some of my thoughts on the issue of reverts.

About three weeks before a session for reverts was organized at our Masjid which continued from Asr till Maghrib. In all about twenty reverts attended the session. Discussion were there as to enhance knowledge of Deen among reverts and also emphasis was laid for resolving the issues that come the way to the new Muslims. Alhamdulillah, most of the reverts were through middle of their third decade or even more younger.

My motto for writing this post is that such events should be held periodically where-ever reverts are present, irrespective of their number. Basically problems that may arise to reverts in any context, are more serious and perplexing if the revert resides in a country where Muslims form minority segment of the total population. In other words,if suppose I revert in Saudi Arabia it is more likely that I will be supported by local Muslims with more degree of strength may it be in any sphere than if I revert in a Non-Muslim country like India.

Reverts are scattered round the globe and in most cases struggling on their own. And it is sad but most of them loose themselves within initial years of reversion. A platform definitely is needed at international level to at least discuss the problems of reverts. The platform needs to be branched covering all continents. Undoubtedly this seems not feasible but help from Allah (SWT) is always more with a group than individuals if they thrive in the way of Allah (SWT).

Now organizing reverts is a massive task. The harder part of the reason being sectarian dissemination of reverts also. Usually reverts stick to Madhab of the inspiring Da'ee. Once a revert glues to a Madhab it becomes difficult to direct him/her to correct Aqeedah.

Hope our Ummah cares for these struggling souls and integrate them in the Ummah as sugar dissolves in water to form a perfect homogeneous solution.

Regards.

Assalamu Alaikum:

There is an international assembly of reverts based in Canada but sadly this assembly sticks to deviated Aqeeda of shiaism.

May Allah (SWT) help we reverts to submerge in His Deen completely.

Regards.

Asalaamu Alaikum,

You make a great point, it's extremly important the Ummah (especially in the west) support the revert brothers and sisters. You guys are the "first generation" of a LARGE wave of reverts in Europe and for the next generation to continue strong and on the deen, it's especially important the Muslims (who have been in the deen for alot longer) can support the new reverts.
