Intelligent. I love a good intellectual discussion, and this is something that I would like to enjoy with my life partner.

Sense of Humor. I like to laugh, and I like to make other people laugh. I think that laughter is important for us to make it through the hard times of life. God gave us a sense of humor, and it's a shame not to use it in my opinion.

Not afraid to speak her mind. I want her to not be afraid to say what is on her mind. Let her teach me the things that I cannot learn for myself. I want her to tell me what she's thinking, and let me know if she disagrees with something I do or say.

Strong in her faith, to help me with mine. I am still learning how to be a man, and how to be a Muslim man at that.

good question dear sister, one that i honestly think about alot these days...one of the conclusions i reached is that i want him to be..to be like me, ofcourse in the masculine side....yes, how can i ask more or less then what i can give in exchange...is easy to make a list with a,b, c..but what we do when we face also the defects of the other person ?...

now the next step is to define ''me'' ; ''myself'' and what can complete the balance...inchallah
this is what i think.

Assalaam walaikum,

Why would you fear men?

:salam2:

I have been phobic of women for a long time now. One thing that drew me to Islam was the seperation of the genders. I feel like I can really concentrate on becoming a better man without the distraction of women.

I am slowly learning how to deal with women though.

I agree with you sister... It's a good question that what to do if we face the defects of the other person... I think if a person has a defect we should accept it and look at the good qualities of that person... And also if one wants to see those qualities in his/her life partner... One should also try and improve his/herself... We all lack something...Because, nobody is perfect..

This is personal for me, because one of my best friends has cerebral palsy and walks with a cane. I really don't even notice it most of the time, because I choose to overlook that and see the person that he is on the inside. I would have no problems being with a sister who has a "defect", because I don't see what's on the outside anyway.

Actually, he is the only one who really knows about my Islam. I knew he wouldn't care, and he didn't when I told him.
