If it's in the noble Qur'an then it did happen, Allah does what He wishes, He only has to say "Be" and it is.

PS: "Al Kaaf" means the cave in arabic.

Amazing

The Qur'an claims that it is the verbatim word of God. And because of this, it must be absolutely perfect, well...but it isn't

How can you deliver your Soul's fate in a single Book ?

And if that book is wrong ?

Delta,

I quote from the wikipedia link you provided.

"During the time of prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, the Jews of Medina challenged him to tell them the story of the sleepers knowing that none of the Arabs knew about it. God then sent Gabrial to reveal the story to him through Surah Al-Kahf. After hearing it from him, the Jews confirmed that he told the same story they knew."

To allah(swt) belongs the heaven and the earth and everything in it SO GLORY be to he most high

That's the same as I saying that none of the Arabs know about The Da Vinci code. The Seven Sleepers of Ephesus was related to christians and not to Jews, and there was a lot o Arab-Christians, it is a Christian Legend, for example Waraqa ibn Naufal was a Ebionite Christian. I don't believe in that because is just impossible

Maybe Allah blinded me, because I'm more confused than ever

As a computer teacher, I must tell you that Wikipedia is NOT a reliable source of information. Many high schools and pretty much all colleges will NOT let you quote or use Wikipedia as a source for research information.

The reason: ANYONE can post to wikipedia and ANYONE can update/change information. It is a PUBLIC encyclopedia in that the PUBLIC can add, update, and change information.

I showed my students how simnple it was to change the first president of the US from George Washington to ME!

The iinformation is fact-checked every 24 hours (I believe) so general facts (like the 1st president being George Washington) would be corrected by the system, but someone can add OPINIONS and those aren't checked.

Just a word to the wise...

You're Christian, right? I was sitting in on a lecture on how early, pre-Christian philosophers, historians, and fables have made it into the Bible. So I guess all those things must be true then too, right?

Sorry, I can't cite specific examples right now - I don't really remember much of it, but I'll try to dig some up if you really care.

here is a pdf about this thanks for bringing Sura al kahf up it acctually has a deeper meaning and wisdom than what some might think a very interesting link below i recommend it to everybody there are others that i might post later inschallah.

http://maxwellinstitute.byu.edu/publications/bookschapter.php?bookid=&chapid=478
Please do not take a verse out of context and read the whole Sura!note that the Quraan doesnt mention the number of the dwellers of ahlu al kahf and only Allah swt knows the number! although the myth you are mentioning was supposedly a well known and a wide spread story .the Quraan also mentions 300 years!nor does it say where and when it was altough it was supposedly well known! you wanna know why don`t you? note especially this here"Thou might think they were awake while they were asleep......"(sura kahf ayat 18) and"For if they prevail against you they would stone you to death or force you back to their religion"sura (kahf aya 15)
Ps.please don`t tell me you are still confused about the shroud of Turin also, are you?

best regards
Good luck

You are absolutely right; Wikipedia is not a reference material, in my campus we cannot ever refer anything from Wikipedia.

The story of the Sleepers sounds like some sort of Hibernation. this should be researched more scientifically.

Hi !

Hi !

Its really good to know that you have read the Quran. You must have read these verses as well cuz' I think there lies the answer to your question
I had read the Koran and I had also read the Bible, and all this questions arose to my mind, opposite books I believe. One God for many religions, strange
Allah SWT says in the Quran,

Mankind was one single nation, and Allah sent Messengers with glad tidings and warnings; and with them He sent the Book in truth, to judge between people in matters wherein they differed; but the People of the Book, after the clear Signs came to them did not differ among themselves, except through selfish contumacy. Allah by His Grace guided the believers to the Truth concerning that wherein they differed. For Allah guides whom He will to a path that is straight. (213)

and

The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah--that which We have sent by inspiration to thee--and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: namely, that ye should remain steadfast in Religion, and make no divisions therein: to those who worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which thou callest them. Allah chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him). (13) And they became divided only after knowledge reached them― through selfish envy as between themselves. Had it not been for a Word that went forth before from thy Lord, (tending) to a Term appointed, the matter would have been settled between them: but truly those, who have inherited the Book after them are in suspicious (disquieting) doubt concerning it. (14)

And

We did aforetime grant to the Children of Israel the Book, the Power of Command and Prophethood; We gave them, for Sustenance, things good and pure; and We favoured them above the nations. (16) And We granted them clear Signs in affairs (of Religion): it was only after knowledge had been granted to them that they fell into schisms, through insolent envy among themselves. Verily thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Judgement as to those matters in which they set up differences. (17) Then We put thee on the (right) Way of Religion: so follow thou that (Way), and follow not the desires of those who know not.― (18)
