When others do the same thing we have done, why does it then become unacceptable?

Sometimes we commit bigger crimes than others yet we consider what they have done as unforgivable & justify ours.

What is bad or evil shall remain unacceptable even if it is given a beautiful name & perpetrated by us or our friends.

If we consider something acceptable, it should be acceptable for all others to do the same.

If something is wrong for others to do, it should be wrong for us too.

If you have no time for your spouse, why did you get married?

If you have no time for your children, then why did you have them?

Make time for them before you lose them.

We should never forget to express gratitude & thanks in appreciation to those who have been kind to us or benefited us in any way.

“Jazakumullahu khairan” is a powerful statement of appreciation, meaning “May the Almighty recompense you with goodness”.

Those who are quick to forget kindness by others will not be shown kindness when it is most needed.

Mutual appreciation encourages us to engage in further goodness & enhances the bond of families & communities etc. So never forget to show appreciation.

Be very humble, polite & respectful with others even if you are the wealthiest, most influential, most powerful, most knowledgeable, most good looking person.

There will always be others who have been blessed with much more than us in every way but at the same time they are much more humble, polite & respectful to others than us, so let's learn from them.

Acts of kindness will always return to us in a greater way!

In fact if each individual excels in kindness we will be surrounded by the most wonderful people living in the ideal home or society.

Never wait for others to be kind to us before we are, be it at home or elsewhere.

Let US start the trend! The reward will be felt almost immediately.

Above that we will be recompensed in an even better way in the hereafter.

No race is better than another in the Eyes of the Almighty.

It is piety, that none other than the Almighty can gauge truly, that matters.

Time will not wait for us no matter how healthy or wealthy we are.

People far healthier than us and wealthier have passed on and time is still ticking.

So never allow yourself to be deceived by your wealth or health.

Use your time wisely and be charitable.

Remember that every moment that goes by will never return so make the most of it.

The gifts of the Almighty upon us are so many that we would never be able to count them all.

Sadly we concentrate on the few issues that He has tested us with and become ungrateful, forgetting the countless gifts we have.

Let us dedicate some time on a regular basis to ponder over what we have been given and express gratitude to Our Maker through our words and deeds.

The Almighty has taught us that the way to increase the goodness we have been bestowed with is through gratitude. "If you are grateful, I shall indeed increase you (in goodness)" S14:V7

The Almighty answers every call of ours for as long as we don’t lose hope. We must continue seeking enthusiastically even if it means for years.

Repeating a call constantly is a GREAT act of worship. One day, when the time is right, we will get what we had been asking for all along.

Never lose hope in the Mercy of the Almighty, as He knows when it is best for us to get what we want, if it is good for us.

Those who aim to please the Creator will always be pleased BY Him. He never lets us down but we let ourselves down by engaging in sin.

When the pride of a person prevents him or her from acknowledging a fault or seeking forgiveness or changing a habit then the hope of resolving matters diminishes.

It is important that we do not allow our pride and egos to make us become the most disliked people by those who live, work or interact with us.

Always be concerned about how we come across to others as the most polite way is the best!

Each person is given the ability to leave his imprint.

Father leaves imprint in the home, the teacher in the classroom etc.

Go out of your way to leave behind the best imprint wherever you are & whatever you do.

Never let the bad imprint of others spoil the imprint you leave.

"The best of deeds are those carried out regularly even if they are little deeds. " Hadith

Never underestimate the reward of punctuality upon a small deed that is very easy to fulfill or achieve.

Regularity or punctuality upon little deeds, is much more rewarding than huge deeds that are not fulfilled except haphazardly.

Do not be from those who have a tendency to start off something really good, but give up after a while. Be strong and keep going.

May the Almighty strengthen our resolve to be regular in fulfilling our good deeds even if they are little. Aameen

Never look at others & think that they will never attain the Mercy of the Almighty.

None of us are perfect. The struggle is to improve our link with our Maker daily. This should continue until we meet our Maker in the best condition we had ever been upon.

Those who move slowly up the ladder but determined, may be better than those higher up who dwindle by taking a few steps down.

The end result of the overall picture is what really matters, so be focused & make sure you improve as time passes rather than go back on your spiritual achievements.

We will never be able to please everybody no matter how hard we try.

Some people will only be pleased if we give up our values, morals, faith & principles. By trying to please such people, we lose ourselves.

When people are upset with us because we stand for justice, values, morals, principles & what we believe in, we should consider it a strength.

Be good & the good will appreciate it. How can we lose the good in us just to please the bad?

The calmness of the heart is a stage beyond mere happiness that only comes through true worship & remembrance of the Almighty.

When we learn to look at things positively it draws us closer to the Almighty.

When we become closer to the Almighty we praise Him upon all conditions and remember Him.

When we engage in the remembrance of the Almighty, we attain the calmness of the heart.

May the Almighty grant us both happiness as well as calmness of the heart.

May He guide us to look at things positively and to engage in His Praise & remembrance upon all conditions.

The heart & mind are connected in an amazing way. They are a very powerful gift of the Almighty through which He tests us.

To lead a happy life & ensure success in the hereafter too, we should never allow either of these to be controlled by others no matter who they are.

The only exception is revelation from the Almighty via His Messenger pbuh. Many have regretted allowing others access to their hearts & minds.

When we are new at a university, amongst the many decisions we have to make is the friends we will allow into our circle.

At times this is done without much thought if any at all, yet this decision can actually shape our whole future.

University life can make you or break you so always remain focus and ensure that you are in the right company.

The worst of habits can be picked up so easily as we mix and interact with all sorts of people.

In today's universities, the danger of falling into the cheap lifestyle is far greater than before and so is the pressure.

Whilst many have developed their spirituality in these crucial years of life, some have lost themselves in the wilderness of their surroundings.

Why should we follow the habits of those lower than us in morality, modesty & spirituality whilst supposedly studying at university.

If we are to take anything let it be the best and purest of habits in a way that will leave us with no regrets and closer to the Almighty.

When we are engrossed in justifying our wrong doings or sins then the chances of returning to the straight path and gaining spiritual upliftment diminish.

However, when we admit that what we are doing is wrong and feel the guilt, then we stand a much better chance of attaining the Mercy of the Almighty.

This is because the guilt combined with the love of the Almighty will ultimately lead us to repenting from our misdeeds. For this reason we should never justify our wrong doings but rather choose to admit that we are wrong.

Repentance too, should not be delayed once we feel the guilt and realize what we have done.

In fact we should search through our deeds regularly to look for anything that is displeasing to the Almighty and change it with true repentance.

None of us have chosen our parents. The Almighty decided through whom we would come into this world, as a blessing and a test for both sides.

Our parents looked after us when we were helpless infants, so why do we find it a burden to look after them when they are aged and in need of care?

Kindness to parents is decreed upon us. Never utter a disrespectful word to them even in disagreement.

Pray for them to attain the Mercy of the Almighty, guidance and goodness for they brought us up praying for our goodness so sincerely.

Obedience of parents is a duty unless they ask us to go against the instruction of the Almighty or to do something unreasonable.. Then too, we must always respect them.

Serving one's parents in old age is as good as opening the doors of Paradise for oneself, so don't miss out.

In old age, sometimes all they want is for us to sit with them and show some interest in their stories of the past, or call them from afar simply asking how they're doing.

May the Almighty forgive our shortcomings and shower our parents with His Mercy.
