I've been a long time lurker to TTI, and really enjoyed the conversations.

I am a recent return to school person, I'm going for a Political Science degree, I also have a degree in Theology, and feel this would be a good balance. I have also decided to learn Arabic to read the Quran in it's native tongue. I'm not sure what God; the God of All religions of peace, has in mind for me, but I'm open to it.


I am also a husband of 8 years, and a father of a beautiful son who keeps my days full.

Welcome and Peace to you as well! I am so glad you have decided finally to introduce yourself and look forward to your future contributions, it is great to have you join us here. That combination of Political Science and Theology is quite a good combination which often does not occur to many people. I really appreciate your open mindedness, and InshaAllah the Lord Almighty has tremendous plans for you. May Allah always lead us to what is best. And bravo on your decision to learn the Quran in Arabic! I myself am still currently working with my English translation. But one day, inshaAllah, I hope to be able to take on the original Arabic as well.

Masha Allah nice to know about you and ur desire to learn Arabic to read and understand Quran in its original language. I hope you reading quran now in ur language for start.

Welcome to TTI. Glad that u have join this forum. Hope insha Allah u will find the way which will safe you here and here after life. Mean while please feel free to ask any doubt question u hav about Islam in ur way to learn it. Insha Allah brothers and sisters here will try there best to help and answer u in the light of Quran and Sunnah for the sake of Allah.

I like to comment on your statement:

There are verses in Quran which we muslems believe are words of God(Allah)

4:163 BEHOLD, We have inspired thee [O Prophet] just as We inspired Noah and all the prophets after him - as We inspired Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and their descendants, including Jesus and Job, and Jonah, and Aaron, and Solomon; and as We vouchsafed unto David a book of divine wisdom;
4:164 and as [We inspired other] apostles whom We have mentioned to thee ere this, as well as apostles whom We have not mentioned to thee; and as God spoke His word unto Moses:
4:165 [We sent all these] apostles as heralds of glad tidings and as warners, so that men might have no excuse before God after [the coming of] these apostles: and God is indeed al*!mighty, wise.
4:166 However it be, God [Himself] bears witness to the truth of what He has bestowed from on high upon thee: out of His own wisdom has He bestowed it from on high, with the angels bearing witness thereto - although none can bear witness as God does.
