Welcome brother,
I have been in your position and understand the difficulty, and fear, that becoming a Muslim may entail. I spent many, many years knowing that Islam was the true way, but being afraid to commit due to the pressures of family, work, and society in general. Remember however, that no matter how difficult things might be here and now, how much more difficult will it be for us when we die and Allah is judging us. Did we reject His message, He will reject us. Did we decide not to pray five times a day for fear of how our coworkers might view us, or what they will say, how much more should we fear what God will say to us.
While we should not dismiss the reality of the difficulties facing all Muslims in this day-and-age, we must also remember that we will be the ones with the better future. Look deep into your heart brother, if you know Islam to be real, than take the Shahadah and embrace the path that Allah has set before us. You might find, insha'Allah, as I did, that things are not as bad as you feared that they would be. Difficult yes, but not insurmountable. May Allah be your guide.
