my name was catherine now im fatima
i realised the truth around 2 yrs ago but didnt take my shahada until around a year ago,i'll tell you my story,well my family are not religious at all except my grandma who is catholic but she isnt too strict in her faith,my mum is athiest and so are the rest of my family (inshallah may allah guide them)my mum brought us up and said that we can decide which religion we would like to follow i actually was introduced to cristian's at a church my nan took to me to and i actually became a catholic the same as my nan,i was a practising catholic but then started to ask questions to the preist that didnt make sense to me like how come we are praying to the son of god why not god himself and i wasnt satisfied,i looked into other religions,spoke to hindu people,jewish people,and sikh people and they didnt seem to suit me,then i was trying to find the right way and couldnt so i gave up then i met a muslim and he told me about his religion the first thing i noticed was he was a nice honest person there was so much respect,he told me muslims believe in jesus (pbuh)moses(pbuh)and all of prophets and that made sense to me there was only one god and last prophet(pbuh)i got the quran and read it and learn't to pray and alhamdulilah i became muslim last year and has just told my family and everyone excepted it except my nan but im still in contact with her she doesnt like hijab,but she is getting used to it and im starting to wear niqab inshallah i can start to wear it full time dont know how my family will take it,and by the way the man who introduced me to islam is my now husband alhamdulilah.now i take each day as a muslim and keep on learning more and more happier in my life and theres nothing missing anymore and allah will guide who he will.salam
