Assalamu'alaykum

I haven't received such a powerful telling off like this for a good few years now.

We all need to be shaken out of our comfort zones, human beings have a tendency to become complacent, may Allaah protect us from laziness and apathy, Ameen.

Assalaam walikum,

It is long overdue...it is time to learn Arabic and forget the black box that has been tied to my mind..our oppressors made us forget our true language.

This was the blessing I was seeking today.

very good,I liked it.but maybe I didn't take the argument cause he was accusing people to have translated the Quran in many languages,or was he saying that people don't accept arabic language?can you explain me?cause if I didn't read the italian copy of Quran maybe it would be possible for me to be muslima.Allah decided the humanity to have different languages because of their misbelieving.I don't know if it's true, but I read that the tower ob Babele was built to reache Allah,so He got angry and condamned human race not to understand each other's language.I surely misunderstood what the Shaikh said,so clear it to me his anger above those who learnt many languages, cause me,I have the diplome in foreign languages,I talk english, french, german, spanish and now arabic too.:wasalam:

Assalaam walaikum,

Sister..we need to learn the correct language. We are given numerous blessings for each word we learn of the correct Book. It is that simple.

Sister hayat, just to add a little bit of context... There is a great advise in the Shaykh's words. But primarily, it seems he is addressing his usual Egyptian audience, of whom there are those who neglect Arabic and are busy learning other languages for Dunyaa purposes. There is a big difference between them and us who are raised on these languages and then learn Arabic. However, that doesn't mean that the points he made don't apply to us also, we have to be careful, and we need to learn Arabic and the book of Allaah...
