Update!

Alhamdulilah :)
:salam2:brothers and sisters of TTI!:hijabi:

Several weeks ago, I was contemplating the idea of wearing the Niqab...I even asked my brothers and sisters on TTI they're opinions...most of you said I should. Well, I did! and let me tell you, it was harder than I thought. For one, I felt like I couldn't breathe..:( But Insha'Allah hopefully I'll get used to it, and I won't feel like that after I get used to it.

But here are some positive things that I did find:

*None and I mean none of the guys at my school, looked at my face, or even tried. Therefore, I saved some of the brothers from staring at me...lol which some do unfortunately and it is soooooo uncomfortable and awkward when that happens.

* I thought I was going to get a lot of weird looks from non-Muslims but not even a single person looked at me funny or said anything to me. I was pleasantly suprised!

I guess the only people that said anything to me or said something negative, unfortunately were the Muslim people I knew and are close to me. I got all kinds of discouragements from them and they made me feel as though I was going to get attacked or something to the point I was so nervous to go outside but the opposite of that happened...ManshaAllah!

Well I thought I would update you guys on what my decision was. nothing interesting I know...but still...

I guess I wasn't around when you made your initial announcement..nonetheless..

Congratulations!!!

Mashallah..you should be happy that you could be setting an example for other sisters out there...sharing your experience can become *their encouragement*

And ukhti..if you are doing this for Allah..then trust that you will not be harmed..and that He (swt) will protect you..just watch out for any bumps along the road..they can either be divine tests or satanic whispers..distinguish between the two..and always pick what pleases Allah..and inshallah you will never a burden of a single thing :)

Asalamu alaykum wrwb, sister wish me luck...i too want to wear niqab and have been thinking of it for two years, i am personally ready for all the hardships that occur due to niqab...but like you said my family is trying to make me dislike it. however i still love it. im gonna get a niqab in about a week or so inshaAllah...the hardest would be school since noone wears niqab in my city...so i'm planning on talking to my parents and letting them know and also letting the school staff know since they don't allow it. i really need all the duas i can get. i still haven't talked to my parents yet, but i know it's gonna be hard. Ugh. i love niqab and even dream of it so often.
asalamu alaykum wrwb and congradulations ukhti!!!!! it's a beautiful thing!:salam2:

MashaAllah that is great sister. I am sure you have lightened the road for many sisters over here. How can it be something which leads to harm? Allah (swt) said it is not. In Surah Al-Ahzaab, Allah says, "O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e.screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allâh is Ever Oft*!Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Al-Ahzaab 59).

Congratulations!

Mansha'Allah that's great news that you want to wear one too! May Allah make it easy for you. It just takes some time for people to get used to it and after that, it won't be all that different Insha'Allah. Wow! no one wears niqab in the whole city though? that's crazy.

Congratulation sister Nimah. If you take 1 step to ALLAH, ALLAH comes nearer to you 10 steps.

ANd yes its usually our close friends who mock at us rather than unknown persons. There is only one answer for such people ... " Get off " (not exactly get off but u can conceal it using different words)
