many of you all may now be aware that there was a major terror attack in Mumbai yesterday. as of the moment, a " muslim " group is claiming responsibility for the heinous acts comitted. i was wondering how muslims from around the world view this attack. do we condemn the attack, do we apologize, do we make an effort to explain what islam really means? what do we do?

WEBSITE ADMINISTRATOR (MABSOOT) WRITES: PLEASE NOTE!!! THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
1. APOLOGISING
and 2. CONDEMNING....
Muslims Condemn all acts of violence and injustice no matter who the perpetrators are! This is a given. But, we do not need to apologise !
If you are a Christian or a Jew reading this thread, ask yourself if you feel the need to take a microphone and APOLOGISE each time someone does something in the name of your faith?? Such as the Lords Resistance Army in Africa, or the KKK etc??
Likewise, Muslims feel no need to Apologise for something that does not reflect them or their Religion.

Given these complex issues, people can see the sensitivities in having to apologise simply for being Muslims. It is nonsensical and unjust to ask for that. Those who do the crimes are the ones who should apologise and face the punishment.
