  • Sorry about being late with the PMs, I have read them rest assured but just havent really gotten around to replying to them. I do understand your concerns, and there may be a few oddballs, but I think on a whole we appreciate your presense and desire to learn. And lol, when I meant enter this world, I meant that you came to the website and decided to stay of your own will, it wasnt forced nor contrived... so I welcome you as a guest and valued member and hope you stay as long as possible!

I dont know if I make sense, I'm stuck doing math *sniff* -- but it's not that I don't like it actually, I just dont seem to get into anything labelled as 'studying' lol
No, I'm a mod so I can still see you! Nice try.

What I meant by that is... In the modern world, what marks the end of the day and the beginning of another? When the clock strikes 12. In the Muslim world, a new day begins after sunset. So you're saying happy friday to me on a friday evening was in fact a saturday evening. In fact the idea that the night comes before the day and not after is one not exclusive to the Islamic world...

I hope that clears it up.
I'm glad! I made it a while back and for a while it went really well... then kind of fizzled out and the rules got fuzzy. But it was good for me because I felt productive while doing it at least, so it gave me a more legit excuse to avoid homework lol.

I have some other game 'idea's up my sleeve... but I don't know how well they'd play out, if people would like them at all, how they'd be taken etc... We'll see though, I'm not supposed to be on TTI much... but I have an idea which might help my studies so I might try it lol
Thanks. Given that it's past sunset here, it's now Yawm us-Sabt/Sabbath/Saturday. Happy Friday to you too, as I imagine it still is Friday on the other side of the globe!
Muslims believe that faith is something which comprises of our beliefs and actions, and that it can both increase and decrease, based upon ones deeds etc. Not every Muslim has the same amount of faith, we all differ and go up and down depending on the deeds we commit.

Allaah has many names and attributes and from them is Ar-Rabb which is often translated as Lord, as it is the closest English word. It refers to the One who creators, ordinates, owns and governs everything, who is of course, Allaah. It is one of the names of Allaah that we use the most, especially in the Qur'aan and in our personal prayers.

By the way, weren't you suppose to reply on my profile?
A Muslim of higher faith? I don't understand. I ask because in Surah 3:199 it says "They do not sell the Verses of Allah for a little price, for them is a reward with their Lord". I wondered as to why the distinction. Why THEIR Lord and not Allah?
Not correct. The Arabic text uses the word Muslim first (meaning Muslim of course) and than Mu'min. Mu'min literally means 'one who believes', but it refers to a Muslim of higher faith in a religious context. As for why the two have been mentioned separately, well if I recall correctly it's a form of expression in the Arabic language, though I can't remember what it signifies!

Sometimes when two words of a similar meaning are used in this way, it is to clarify the overall meaning. So if I said, "he is big and fat", it clarifies that by big I mean large in size and not metaphorically in grandeur etc. I hope what I'm saying makes sense.

But Allaah knows best about this particular hadeeth.
Closing and deleting threads isn't fun, unless your a power monger...

Why tie the shoes, in case the fall on your head? Sorry I don't get the proverb and what it's meant to imply, it's not so obvious.
It is either. Basically, it's pronounced 'hadeeth' as in 'teeth' but since you can't map Arabic to English so well (since short vowels have no letter form in Arabic), you see many variations. The same goes for Salaam and Salam. It is better to write Salaam as this agrees more with the correct pronounciation and doesn't leave much room for confusion as 'salam', which doesn't clarify whether you elongate the second 'a' sound.
It was good alhamdulillaah, thanks. To be honest, I'm glad I'm missing the 'drama'. I only come on in evenings now to clean the place up and help were I can, discuss what I can etc.
Yes, I wish I could say that too! But what keeps me from getting angry at a somewhat seemingly unfair world - where humans can be cruel and barbaric with no sense of morality, is that whether they are caught here or not, whether they are accounted for or not - regardless of whether justice is served to those who deserve it or simply a mockery is made of it, on the Day of Judgment every person will account for themselves, and Alhamdulillah - with Allaah is perfect justice.

I mean sometimes I just dread going through World History because of so much apparant cruelty and bloodshed all over. If there's two things I've never liked it's - politics and war!
Wow... well then that left me speechless for a bit. Thanks for reporting it, the pictures were just so very horrible and saddening - I don't doubt their reality but it's not appropriate for here, and had absolutely no correlation to the link.

I'm really glad you spotted that early!
