Qul HuwaAllahu Ahud!
That statement really hurt me,what ever be the situation he should not say IDIOT to anyone, who gave him the authority to be so harsh to you :( :( ???:(....everone here is speaking about the urdu in this thread but did any1 noticed what he said to the sister, how he can say URDU SPEAKING IDIOTS to us.. :astag::astag:
sister you need not to apologize for this at all, using urdu is not a crime,if it is not the rule of this website than that guy should have told you in a proper way,but not like this.

:salam2:

that is exactly why i oplogised to all urdu speaking brothers and sisters.it wouldn't have happened had we been careful.i'm sorry,i feel like those foolish ppl who call themselves muslims and blow themselves up.giving all the muslims the name of TERRORIST.am i any different from them:(:(:(as i did kinda same thing.:(

What was done was needed. I find it strange that a simple issue required so many reminders, warnings and closed threads. Abu Baseer once closed four in a row, due to the combination of constantly using Urdu and undesirable, causal mingling between genders. Mabsoot closed one before that, reiterating the same points (Urdu and mingling) writing in bold in the last post to use English. Alhamdulillaah, at least it was clear as to why I closed the thread in question, no explanation was needed.

I don't think I'm alone in finding this issue puzzling. It was a simple request from the mods given time after time, which was completely ignored. What's worse is that those who caused threads to be closed, were more than aware of this, yet they persisted to continue. I can recall seeing in at least two threads, that straight after I would remind brothers and sisters not to use Urdu, the very next replies were in Urdu?! The issue is not a joke, when we ask of something pertaining the site, it is not a joke, it is advise or a reminder; we don't delete posts for fun, or say stuff for the sake of it. Don't take me wrong, we all know change takes time and don't see a problem in reminding a lot, but this was such a simple issue.

After issuing my last reminder, it took less than 24 hours (bare in mind I posted at hours where anyone not living in the Americas were probably asleep) before four posts cropped up in Urdu! The initial creator of the thread is an American revert who does not understand Urdu. What sense does it make to hijack someone's thread by conversing in a language which the initial poster doesn't understand?

The reasons as to why using Urdu in an English language forum is such a problem are obvious and have already been mentioned. We do hope to host Urdu forums in the future. But please bare in mind, we are going through changes and so Mabsoot is especially busy. We rather prioritise what is important and give da`wah than having to nag people with a simple instruction.

:salam2:
jazakallah khiara for your reply brother.i'm sorry to have messed up your time.i read your post and inshallah would do as told.i will try not to have you nag us.......me atleast for simple instructions.:)

Assalamu Alykum.

Bro - Ansari, you are in my Dua's InshaAllah Ta'ala. May Allah SWT increase your knowledge and keep you steadfast. Aameen.

I hope you or other Urdu speakers didn't feel offended by what I said. What I meant was that 'the behaviour of you guys after being warned was 'stupid' And that did not mean everyone, just the ones that never took heed of the warnings and continued.

Jazakallah Khair, I actually love Urdu and would love to learn one day InshaAllah.

Wassalaaam. :)

Am I allowed to say something ???

I have observed that urdu speaking brothers and sisters speak to each other in a way which is not within Islamic limits. My observation might be wrong....BUT ...why would you like to have useless talk with other non-mehram brothers or sisters in a blunt style. WHY???

Brothers need to learn how to interact sisters...and sisters need NOT to allow brothers to speak to them beyond certain limits. Teach them that you are respectable, dignified Muslim girl.....you have taqwa and piety...and they need to fear Allah before being blunt with you.

I assume my words would have offended many....but I am happy that I said this Alhamdolillah (I have been observing this since last 2 months).

:wasalam:

No sister, your brave to mention this. I don't speak urdu but I understand very well and the way some brother speak to some sisters is completely against Islam. I don't bother reminding them because I don't think they will listen because they enjoy doing what they are doing. But a question for those brothers who speak this way to sisters on tti, how would you like it if a non mahram man came up to your own blood sister and spoke to her the way you speak to sisters whom you are not mahram with. I'm sure it will make you mad because you would dislike it. Likewise, don't be a hypocrite and talk to sisters unnecessarily, especially when there is no benefit in your idle speech. Lol harsh yes but it's the truth! :D

Jazaakillaahu khayran, I too commend BinteShafi's post, may Allaah reward her. However, I think it was more than two way, i.e. it wasn't only the brothers who initiated these conversations.

Asslam'u Alykum,

Being afraid of Allah might be a better idea, brother Ansari. If we (properly) realise that He is watching over us (before we post or say anthing here on the Forum, or anywhere), there's no need of being afraid of any of them. Even if sister BinteShafi doesn't notice that, He does. And we all know that very well. :) So, let's try to be good in His books.

Having said that, may Allah reward everyone who are trying their best to keep the environment as Islami as possible. Masha'Allah.

Just noticed, another thread had to be Locked. Same issues, again and again. I don't seem to understand how it's so hard to keep it to the rules! Subhan Allah.

Wa'salaam
