It's time for all of us to be honest

Hard Rock Moslem

I'm your brother
I just dont know any more. I understand the suspicion, I just cant understand God.

Forgive me for being dark and brooding

I pray to Allah for Him to guide you. Truly there is God and only one God.

Have you been to jungle and met up with aborigines? I've and when we asked this aborigines, do you believe in God? Their answer is "yes". So what is so difficult for people like us living in cities? Their only problem is they do not understand the concept of God so they worship anything look weird and anything that is miracle to them. So here is our duty to explain and show them the right way. Alhamdulillah, with guidance from Allah there are number of them accepted Islam. Even atheists are actually believe in God, if they do not recognise God how come they know there is no God?

I honestly believe that Islam is the greatest religion I have ever seen, the proof is undeniable and the miracles of the Quran are there for all to see, but my main two questions are, How can you be so sure there really is a god, and, If Allah didn't want me to do some of the things I do, why make me the way I am? Why make humanity have so many flaws? Why not simply make us perfect servants?

If I came off as mopey or pretentious, I wasnt my intention. Im just sick of being scared of death and im sick of not knowing whats going on outside of our mundane little lives.

Thanks in advance,
B

Assalamu Alaikum (Peace be upon you)
Praise be to Allah

Brother, i will try to answer it as possibly as i could..

There are no single flaw in Allah creations
Allah challenge human to prove this :

" He who has created the seven heavens one above another. You can see no fault in the creation of the Bestower of Mercy. Then look again : Can you detect a single flaw ? Then look again, and yet again; your sight will return to you in a state of weariness. "
[67:3-4]

About something that you think as a flaw (e.g. blind born baby), Allah Himself has the knowledge about the reasons. Our duty are to put faith in Him and to obey Him. We have to always give good prejudices about Allah intentions(husnudzon)

The angel were perfect creation. They have intelligence but they have no desire. Human was created perfect in it's own image and condition. Human have both intelligence and desire. Criteria of perfection was different among Allah creations.

Desire is what make us distinct from the angel :

"And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority" They said, "will you place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You ?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."
And He taught Adam the names - All of them. Then He showed them to the angels and said, "Inform Me the names of these, if you are truthful."
They said, "Exalted are You, we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing, the Wise."
He said, "O Adam, inform them of their names." And when he had inform them of their names, He said, "Did I not tell you that I know the unseen [aspects] of the heaven and the earth ? And I know what you reveal and what you have concealed."
[2:30-33]

Human can do whatever he wants with his own desire. Surely, there will be consequences for whatever human do with his desire. Whoever can suite his own desire to obey what Allah has commanded to them, for them are great rewards. Whoever following their lust and do what Allah has forbid, for them are painful punishments.

So, pray to Allah brother..
Pray to Allah that Allah give you guidance to the straight path and strengthen your heart to choose the right way
Ameen

Asslam u Alaikum

Allah. There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).

Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.

(Al-Qur'an, Chapter 2)

I thank you all for the answers. I want to believe in Allah, but I look inside myself and I just cant see him being real. I look around me and all I see is filth. If Allah has a plan, why are we forced into it? He gave us the freedom of choice (sort of) but we get no choice as to whether or not we want to fall in line with his plan?
Here's how it seems to me.
Imagine we are in high school and I am a bully. I tell you that I'm giving you a choice. You can either do my homework every day until we are out of school or I can shoot you in the head. The gun in this case represents hell, and the homework represents God's plan. Sure, the bully gave you a choice, but it doesnt seem like a fair one at all does it? You would be forced to do the work that you didnt want to do just so you wouldnt get shot (or in this case, killed again and again for all eternity in hell)

Bad example Seeker... You're not comparing apples to apples.. Here's the difference... Allah is asking you to do all his commands for the ultimate goal of preserving you and consequently preserving the entire nation. Allah has no personal gains from his request. The bully in your classroom cares nothing about you. He is merely looking for his own interest of passing school by having you do his homework for him. After that, he will not even reward you for that, while Allah does reward you with paradise.

See the example is very flawed on so many levels I just mentioned only one.

Further; I'll give you a better example. Let's suppose you had no clue how to drive a car. I hand you the keys and tell you go for it; drive. You may fiddle around and you may have the thing running but due to your lack of knowledge it's very certain that you'll end up in an accident that could be fatal. However, if I give you an instruction manual that you could read and follow a step by step data of how to operate this deadly machinery, you can read it and then be successful in your ultimate venture of driving.

Allah has created us on this earth and has given us the instruction manual that will aid us in operating this entrusted body, mind, and soul, and that instruction manual is the Quran.

Brother seeker these are from the whispers of shaytaan (satan). Just ignore it, if you keep listening to his whispers then you will despair and be confused. I attached some documents which you can read of other people's experiences and what are the remedies. InshaAllaah (God willing) Allaah guides you and all of us ameen (amen). Just remember also that Muslims are different, we are supposed to be like strangers or travellers on this earth. This earth is not our home, it's the hereafter (paradise or hell) which is our eternal resting place.
I recommend you to find some good practising Muslim men (who follow the Qur'aan and Sunnah) and stick to the right company. We are NOT perfect, when we fall, we repent and turn to Allaah. Also, study about Allaah InshaAllaah. And hold on to Islam tightly and never let go! Allaah might be testing you to see what you are going to do. Satan in playing with your mind. Study Islam, study Islam, please don't destroy yourself for this world and study about Islam.
May Allaah guide us all. Ameen Ya Rabb :tti_sister:

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate.
Verily God has purchased from the believers their persons and their property that Paradise might be theirs.1. Qur’an, 9:111.

If you wish to understand how profitable a trade it is, and how honour-able a rank, to sell one’s person and property to God, to be His slave and His soldier, then listen to the following comparison.

Once a king entrusted each of two of his subjects with an estate, including all necessary workshops, machinery, horses, weapons and so forth. But since it was a tempestuous and war-ridden age, nothing enjoyed stability; it was destined either to disappear or to change. The king in his infinite mercy sent a most noble lieutenant to the two men and by means of a compassionate decree conveyed the following to them:

“Sell me the property you now hold in trust, so that I may keep it for you. Let it not be destroyed for no purpose. After the wars are over, I will return it to you in a better condition than before. I will regard the trust as your property and pay you a high price for it. As for the machinery and the tools in the workshop, they will be used in my name and at my workbench. But the price and the fee for their use shall be increased a thousandfold. You will receive all the profit that accrues. You are indigent and resourceless, and unable to provide the cost of these great tasks. So let me assume the provision of all expenses and equipment, and give you all the income and the profit. You shall keep it until the time of demobilization. So see the five ways in which you shall profit! Now if you do not sell me the property, you can see that no one is able to preserve what he possesses, and you too will lose what you now hold. It will go for nothing, and you will lose the high price I offer. The delicate and precious tools and scales, the precious metals waiting to be used, will also lose all value. You will have the trouble and concern of administering and preserving, but at the same time be punished for betraying your trust. So see the five ways in which you may lose! Moreover, if you sell the property to me, you become my soldier and act in my name. Instead of a common prisoner or irregular soldier, you will be the free lieutenant of an exalted monarch.”

After they had listened to this gracious decree, the more intelligent of the two men said:

“By all means, I am proud and happy to sell. I offer thanks a thousandfold.”
But the other was arrogant, selfish and dissipated; his soul had become as proud as the Pharaoh. As if he was to stay eternally on that estate, he ignored the earthquakes and tumults of this world.

He said:
“No! Who is the king? I won’t sell my property, nor spoil my enjoyment.”
After a short time, the first man reached so high a rank that everyone envied his state. He received the favour of the king, and lived happily in the king’s own palace. The other by contrast fell into such a state that everyone pitied him, but also said he deserved it. For as a result of his error, his happiness and property departed, and he suffered punishment and torment.

O soul full of caprices! Look at the face of truth through the telescope of this parable. As for the king, he is the Monarch of Pre-Eternity and Post-Eternity, your Sustainer and Creator. The estates, machinery, tools and scales are your possessions while in life’s fold; your body, spirit and heart within those possessions, and your outward and inward senses such as the eye and the tongue, intelligence and imagination. As for the most noble lieutenant, it is the Noble Messenger of God; and the most wise decree is the Wise Qur’an, which describes the trade we are discussing in this verse:

Verily God has purchased from the believers their persons and property that Paradise might be theirs.

The surging field of battle is the tempestuous surface of the world, which ceaselessly changes, dissolves and reforms and causes every man to think:
“Since everything will leave our hands, will perish and be lost, is there no way in which we can transform it into something eternal and preserve it?”
While engaged in these thoughts, he suddenly hears the heavenly voice of the Qur’an saying:
“Indeed there is, a beautiful and easy way which contains five profits within itself.”
What is that way?

To sell the trust received back to its true owner. Such a sale yields profit fivefold.

The First Profit: Transient property becomes everlasting. For this waning life, when given to the Eternal and Self-Subsistent Lord of Glory and spent for His sake, will be transmuted into eternity. It will yield eternal fruits. The moments of one’s life will apparently vanish and rot like kernels and seeds. But then the flowers of blessedness and auspiciousness will open and bloom in the realm of eternity, and each will also present a luminous and reassuring aspect in the Intermediate Realm.

The Second Profit: The high price of Paradise is given in exchange.

The Third Profit: The value of each limb and each sense is increased a thousandfold. The intelligence is, for example, like a tool. If you do not sell it to God Almighty, but rather employ it for the sake of the soul, it will become an ill-omened, noxious and debilitating tool that will burden your weak person with all the sad sorrows of the past and the terrifying fears of the future; it will descend to the rank of an inauspicious and destructive tool. It is for this reason that a sinful man will frequently resort to drunkenness or frivolous pleasure in order to escape the vexations and injuries of his intelligence. But if you sell your intelligence to its True Owner and employ it on His behalf, then the intelligence will become like the key to a talisman, unlocking the infinite treasures of compassion and the vaults of wisdom that creation contains.

To take another example, the eye is one of the senses, a window through which the spirit looks out on this world. If you do not sell it to God Almighty, but rather employ it on behalf of the soul, by gazing upon a handful of transient, impermanent beauties and scenes, it will sink to the level of being a pander to lust and the concupiscent soul. But if you sell the eye to your All-Seeing Maker, and employ it on His behalf and within limits traced out by Him, then your eye will rise to the rank of a reader of the great book of being, a witness to the miracles of dominical art, a blessed bee sucking on the blossoms of mercy in the garden of this globe.

Yet another example is that of the tongue and the sense of taste. If you do not sell it to your Wise Creator, but employ it instead on behalf of the soul and for the sake of the stomach, it sinks and declines to the level of a gatekeeper at the stable of the stomach, a watchman at its factory. But if you sell it to the Generous Provider, the the sense of taste contained in the tongue will rise to the rank of a skilled overseer of the treasuries of Divine compassion, a grateful inspector in the kitchens of God’s eternal power.

So look well, O intelligence! See the difference between a tool of destruction and the key to all being! And look carefully, O eye! See the difference between an abominable pander and the learned overseer of the Divine library! And taste well, O tongue! See the difference between a stable doorkeeper or a factory watchman and the superintendent of the treasury of God’s mercy!

Compare all other tools and limbs to these, and then you will understand that in truth the believer acquires a nature worthy of Paradise and the unbeliever a nature conforming to Hell. The reason for each of them attaining his respective value is that the believer, by virtue of his faith, uses the trust of his Creator on His behalf and within the limits traced out by Him, whereas the unbeliever betrays the trust and employs it for the sake of the instinctual soul.

The Fourth Profit: Man is helpless and exposed to numerous misfortunes. He is indigent, and his needs are numerous. He is weak, and the
burden of life is most heavy. If he does not rely on the Omnipotent One of Glory, place his trust in Him and confidently submit to Him, his conscience will always be troubled. Fruitless torments, pains and regrets will suffocate him and intoxicate him, or turn him into a beast.

The Fifth Profit: Those who have experienced illumination and had unveiled to them the true nature of things, the elect who have witnessed the truth, are all agreed that the exalted reward for all the worship and glorification of God performed by your members and instruments will be given to you at the time of greatest need, in the form of the fruits of Paradise.

If you spurn this trade with its fivefold profit, in addition to being deprived of its profit, you will suffer fivefold loss.

The First Loss: The property and offspring to which you are so attached, the soul and its caprice that you worship, the youth and life with which you are infatuated, all will vanish and be lost; your hands will be empty. But they will leave behind them sin and pain, fastened on your neck like a yoke.

The Second Loss: You will suffer the penalty for betrayal of trust. For you will have wronged your own self by using the most precious tools on the most worthless objects.

The Third Loss: By casting down all the precious faculties of man to a level much inferior to the animals, you will have insulted and transgressed against God’s wisdom.

The Fourth Loss: In your weakness and poverty, you will have placed the heavy burden of life on your weak shoulders, and will constantly groan and lament beneath the blows of transience and separation.

The Fifth Loss: You will have clothed in an ugly form, fit to open the gates of Hell in front of you, the fair gifts of the Compassionate One such as the intelligence, the heart, the eye and the tongue, given to you to make preparation for the foundations of everlasting life and eternal happiness in the hereafter.

Now is it so difficult to sell the trust? Is it so burdensome that many people shun the transaction? By no means! It is not in the least burdensome. For the limits of the permissible are broad, and are quite adequate for man’s desire; there is no need to trespass on the forbidden. The duties imposed by God are light and few in number. To be the slave and soldier of God is an indescribably pleasurable honour. One’s duty is simply to act and embark on all things in God’s name, like a soldier; to take and to give on God’s behalf; to move and be still in accordance with His permission and law. If one falls short, then one should seek His forgiveness, say:

“O Lord! Forgive our faults, and accept us as Your slaves. Make us sure holders of Your trust until the time comes when it is taken from us. Amen!”, and make petition unto Him

Dear Seeker;

If you just take the time to see what faith does to people you'll realize that the more faithful you are the less evil you do.. For faith is like a shield that keeps us from doing wrong.

I know how hard it is to change your beliefs, or maintain such strong faith.. but think of it as an advanced payment to enter heavens. Unlike those who chose to disbelieve, refusing to pay the price of entring heaven, to enter hell fire instead.

Knowing that, will help you quit whatever wrong your doing to yourself or to others.. For people who enter heavens will definitely forget all the suffring they went through in this life after having a taste of the joys and pleasures of heavens.

Darkness is against the beliefs of muslims, For it is light that can lead us to the right path and darkness leads to nothing but doom. Such light comes from Allah to whomever He choses to guide to His way.

we muslims believe that shaitan (Satan) is Allah's enamy, becuz shaitan was the first to disobay Allah when he was ordered to prostrate towards Adam as a way of glorifying, There for shaitan made an oath to seduce us and mislead us to share his fait in going to hell fire. there for we must also consider him as our enamy as well.

Islam is a religion of precaution, Once we fully commit to Its rulings and teachings it prevents us from wrong doing, and makes it easier to face the hardship of this life.

We may suffer in this life for the cause of Allah and His religion Islam.. But to warship Allah has an unimaginable reward which is heavens.. where the weakest muslim with minimume faith will get as much as this worlds full of joys and treasures.

I pray to Allah to guide you to his path and give knowledge and faith.

I first visted this forum while thinking of converting to Islam. I was given many responses and was very excited by the support I was recieving but I have since lost faith, and I'll tell you all why.
I have, for many years, been involved with the Gothic subculture and have always found the darker side of life appealing, though I've never been sure why.
After 9/11 I would always hear talk of "radical muslims" and thinking myself quite "radical", I decided to see what all of the talk was about, and this is how I discoverd groups like Al Qaeda and Hamas and through those groups, Islam. When I look back on it, I was only thinking of reverting because I thought that blowing things up was cool. I wanted to be a muslim so I could be "different" and "edgy". I was reverting for the wrong reasons, and I believe this is why I lost faith. That was my being honest, and now I have some questions for you, if any of you would care to oblige me, I would be very grateful.
Firstly, I am a smoker. I know the risks, but I am a legal adult and am allowed to do so, my question is, what is Islam's ruling on smoking?
Next, my gothic lifestyle. I know about the basic clothing regulations, but (for those of you who know about the subculture) what does Islam say about some of the imagery and dark themes of the gothic culture.
Thirdly, music. I have seen many heated arguments about whether or not music is haraam, does anyone know of any quranic verses or hadith that actually say yes or no?
I honestly believe that Islam is the greatest religion I have ever seen, the proof is undeniable and the miracles of the Quran are there for all to see, but my main two questions are, How can you be so sure there really is a god, and, If Allah didn't want me to do some of the things I do, why make me the way I am? Why make humanity have so many flaws? Why not simply make us perfect servants?

If I came off as mopey or pretentious, I wasnt my intention. Im just sick of being scared of death and im sick of not knowing whats going on outside of our mundane little lives.

B

:salam2:

insha'ALLAH i will be able to help answer your questions. about islam's stance on smoking: it's very debatable. for the longest time the scholars said that smoking was makruh ( disliked/ but not haram ). their basis was based upon the fact that smoking wasn't around during the time of the revelation of the quran and was never mentioned by the prophet:saw: . therefore in their opinion one really couldn't say. also, they didn't know of the health risks at the time. i believe that today the majority or more and more of the scholars are saying that smoking is haram. as muslims we know that we are obligated of taking good care of our bodies. also we have knowledge that smoking causes many health risks, possibly leading to death. in conclusion they say smoking is haram. keep in mind that there still are many that will say that it's makruh and will always be makruh. i won't say it's haram but, it would be of more benefit to quit.

the gothic lifestyle dress. i do know that always wearing all black is discouraged in islam. but even worse is the images of gothic dress. images of skulls, ghosts, demons, dragons and the like. do we really want to mock death? do we believe that we're ready for death? do we want people to think we're friends of the shaytaan? brother, always remember that right now there are people suffering in their graves, that wish they could have just one minute of life so that they could do a good deed to grant them into jannah; but can't now. so walking around like the living dead is an insult to them, especially when the goth kids are still alive and have a chance to make tawbah and perform good deeds.

music......... ugh that's too long to discuss here, but alhamdulillah there have been many threads posted here at TTI which has information regarding the question of music. the issue is, what do i need to hear more of, the quran or ozzy osbourne? one will benefit you and the other will just be a waste of time.

islam means submission, a willful submission, not a tap out like in UFC fighting. it's about knowing that you need to submit. if we are muslims we have to submit. you know the truth and now you have to run with it brother. i used to dabble in other religions because at one time in my life i though that islam was too strict. but when i was learning about the other religions, the truth of islam was always on my mind, they were undeniable. that's how i returned to islam.

today, i was looking at flowers that my mom received in the hospital and i was amazed at their beauty. i then began to think, how can there not be a God to create such beauty? the big bang or evolution couldn't have done that. every painting has a painter. you do not need to see the painter to know that someone painted it. the same goes for ALLAH SWT. He leaves his evidences all around us every single day.

brother, every time we sin and we sincerely repent; ALLAH SWT is pleased. we are even rewarded for doing a good deed when we repent:) we can't be perfect, if we were like angels ALLAH SWT would wipe us out and put a new people on the earth that would make tawbah when they sinned. our flaws are what makes us different from all other creation. every flaw is an opportunity to better ourselves with tawbah and prepare a place for ourselves in jannah, insha'ALLAH.

I understand all these wonderful answers, I honestly do, but why does God need his law established here on earth? What is so special about earth? Assuming there were never any humans, earth would be fine and the natural order of the other animals would go unharmed. Very rarely do we do anything benificial to this planet and, although that is the fault of man's poor decisions, why does god need us? Look at his universe! We are nothing when compared to the vast infinity of space! What makes us so special? Are we just God's lab rats? does he call upon us to worship him, merely to prove Shaytan wrong? Is his ego so large that he didnt merely need mighty and perfect angels to worship him, but also we flawed human animals?
Another thing I forgot to mention was that many of Islam's rules make no sense to me. Why is it that eating with your left hand invites the devil to eat with you? Is it true that human images are forbidden in Islam and if so, arent the emoticons (which resemble human beings) that are on this website forbidden? Why cant God just tell us whats going on? Why speak in these riddles and parables when he could just rip the sky open and tell us, and THEN let us decide? Why allow all these false or semi true religions to be on earth when all it does is confuse people who are genuinely trying to please God? And what of the hunter gatherers of Africa and South america who have never seen outsiders and the vast majority of whom will die without every even thinking of a monotheistic religion? What of the native Americans who never heard the Gosple or Torah or Quran? Islam says that the prophet is a mercy to the worlds, but why only certain worlds? Why are so many going to die without ever knowing he existed, and no possible way of ever knowing he existed? If you were to try and explain to these native people the Idea that there is only one God who created every single little thing, they would laugh at you! And, short of forcing the idea upon them through violence, they would reject the notion without a second thought. Do they go to hell because they lived and died as pagans who did everything the Quran says not to do? They have sex out of marrige, they sing and dance, many times completely naked, they use natural intoxicants, they eat wild pigs and other such cloven hooved animals, they draw images and take them up as gods beside Allah, they basically break every single rule of Islam, so do they burn for it?

Hi Seeker,

The earth is one of the creations of Allah all praise is due to Him. It has been created for the humanbeing to use what he needs, not to destroy it. From the earth the grain grows, from the sky the rain falls. On the earth we can walk (gravitation). Nothing has been created without any purpose. Every creature has his purpose on this earth and in this big universe.

Allah says: "Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, and the ships which sail through the sea with that which is of use to mankind, and the water (rain) which Allâh sends down from the sky and makes the earth alive therewith after its death, and the moving (living) creatures of all kinds that He has scattered therein, and in the veering of winds and clouds which are held between the sky and the earth, are indeed Ayât (proofs, evidences, signs, etc.) for people of understanding."

it will be continued insha Allah

Thanks

Does God need us?

Allah says: "Allâh! Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber, nor sleep overtake Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth."

Allah all praise is due to Him does not need anyone. How is it possible that the One who sustains and protects all that exists to be in need to the one who begs for food? How is possible for the owner of Power, The most Strong to be in need to the one who is weak?

Allah says: " And I (Allâh) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). .I seek not any provision from them (i.e. provision for themselves or for My creatures) nor do I ask that they should feed Me (i.e. feed themselves or My creatures). Verily, Allâh is the All-Provider, Owner of Power, the Most Strong."

To be continued insha Allah...

I think if you ponder in the following verses in Quran you will understand what make us different in this universe with out such verses we will never understand our roll on earth and our status. Humans need much humility and clear heart to understand. Don`t let stains of life block your heart .....You have walked a good walk don`t turn your back again. Islam can make you know your creator and why you were created so don t close your heart and eyes again.

32:6 (Asad) Such is He who knows all that is beyond the reach of a created being’s perception, as well as all that can be witnessed by a creature’s senses or mind: the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace,

32:7 (Asad) who makes most excellent everything that He creates. Thus, He begins the creation of man out of clay;

32:8 (Asad) then He causes him to be begotten out of the essence of a humble fluid;

32:9 (Asad) and then He forms him in accordance with what he is meant to be, and breathes into him of His spirit: and [thus, O men,] He endows you with hearing, and sight, and feelings as well as minds: [yet] how seldom are you grateful!
