Driving test on Monday

Yes, I have one of those too. One day, someone took me to a little shack outside a government building, and they gave me a form to fill out, pasted photographs, tons of signs and stamps, and instant drivers license.

Though I feel too scared to drive in India for my license to actually be useful. Because everything is on the road at once: Cars, trucks, motorcycles, rickshaws, bicycles, pedestrians, cows, buffaloes, stray dogs, handcart-vendors, EVERYTHING on the road at ONCE, without any rule or regulation. Not to mention the wonderful roads with potholes and water.

I once got a big scratch on our car just backing out of the gate. I was too busy trying to see if I could back out onto the road, since my house is on the main road and there's a lot of traffic, and of course no body will stop and yield, and while distracted there, one end of the car hit the gate.

What a life. Sigh.

Assalamu Alaikum:

If driving license is issued without testing driving skills and judging understanding of rules of an individual, authorities put masses at risk of untoward incidences.

Recently my brother's car was smashed by a police van and that too in the morning. This was a head-on collision and the annoying fact is that the police van was using the side other the road, than one they should have moved on.

The local administration in my city never dare to pull out animals wandering on roads despite many cases of casualties.

I am amazed, why did Allamma Iqbal wrote the lyrics '' Sare Jahan Se Achha Hindusta Hamara".

Regards.

Actually on my test, we did something which my friends & family had never done. It was to test my reflexes. He had me go up to 40 MPH then he randomly said "CHILD" And I had to slam on my breaks. This all happened in the parking lot.

:salam2:

That's a new one. I never had to do that. Though I remember that I took driving lessons from this old guy so my parents could get a lower insurance rate. The old guy had this huge brake on the passenger side of the car. He wasn't afraid to use it, either.

I failed the written test 3 times before I took my driving test. I aced that test in California. Thankfully I they didn't have me parallel park which I can still not do to this day. I had to do the 3 point turn and my car was small enough to do a U turn in the road. I had to take the drivers test again when I moved to Tennessee and did fine. When I moved back to California I had to take the written test to regain my license, apparently they keep it in the system for 7 years and I was gone for 6. I passed by one question on the written test. Speaking of I have to renew my tags this month.

Ah, yes, tag renewal. Just another government ploy to steal more of our money.

I have to say when I had to take the test in Chattanooga, I showed them I had a California license and the tester laughed, said drive around the block and passed me. He said that since I could handle the highways of California, he was more then certain I could handle I 75 and Tennessee roads.

Yeah. We don't have the road rage issues here that I have read about in L.A. You honk at a dude in L.A. and you'll have hot lead coming your way.

Hello everyone.

It has been a while, but I finally got another test. On Thursday the 22nd of September I will have another chance of succeeding.

Please, I need your prayers once again. I really need to pass this time since I'm going to travel in early October, and I probably won't be able to get another test before that. I want to end this so I can enjoy my holidays.

That, and I'm tired of worrying about it every day. Brothers and Sisters, I beg you - help me pass on Thursday!

I have test on 13th.Please pray for me also that i pass the test inshallah.
I'm sorry I didn't see your post until now - how did it go?

Salam,

I failed because of minor mistakes. Nothing that made him push the break pedal or anything. He just thought that I felt unsecure on the road. I also wasn't very good at reverse parking.

Hopefully I do better next time... Inshallah.

Assalaam walaikum,

I remember gas being 25 cents a gallon. I remember all kinds of things. I think it is funny how they have taken the fun out of driving. And they put all these restrictions on people.

You know a man in the US made a car that could make it 3000 miles on three gallons of water. He died. Now, I wonder why he died ?

Good luck to everyone. Do not be intimated by the man/woman in blue.

I FAILED. :(

I was so sure that I could do it, and after reading quran and praying for days I thought Allah would help me. But I didn't pass, and now I have to pay even more money to continue and my teacher was very disappointed in me...

One of the worst days in my life...

We shouldn't read qur'an or salah just to get something. We should do those things anyway :S But make lots of du'aa. InshaAllah you pass the next time.

prayers won't do you much if you don't do your own work. Have you practiced much? Can you practice driving on temps?

if your teacher was disappointed in you then he should be disappointed in himself because he didn't do a proper job of preparing you.

It depends on where he lives. In the US, we dont usually have driving teachers and when we take our test, its a random person.

In the US, once you get a learners license by taking a written test, your immediate family can teach you how to drive :hearts: My mother taught me, I will teach my husband. :)

salam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh my brother.

When you recited your Durood Shareef as you call it, was it du'as you found in some books? For example we see people from SE Asia reciting innovated Du'aas. So look into what duas you made..

Read this: Etiquette of making du’aa’

May Allâh [Subhaanah] make it easy for you my brother :) Keep your trust in Allâh The Exalted.

I just searched ''driving test'' on YT... it might be interesting to see some clips.
