It is mentioned in the 40 Hadith of Rasoolullah (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam) by Imam Nawawi (rahmatullahi 'alaihi)

On the authority of Abu Najih Al-Erbadh bin Sariah, who said :

The messenger of Allah gave us a sermon by which our hearts were filled with fear and tears came to our eyes. We said: "O Messenger of Allah, it is as though this is a farewell sermon, so councel us." He said: "I councel you to fear Allah and to give absolute obedience even if a slave becomes your leader. Verily he among you who lives [long] will see great controversy, so you must keep to my sunnah and to the sunnah of the rightly-guided Khalifahs - cling to them stubbornly. Beware of newly invented matters, for every invented matter is an innovation and every innovation is a going astray, and every going astray is in Hell-fire."

related by Abu Dawud and Al-Tirmithi, who said that it was a fine and true Hadith.

Narrated Mujahid: ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar said, "Allah’s Apostle took hold of my shoulder and said, ‘Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler.’ " The sub-narrator added: Ibn ‘Umar used to say, "If you survive till the evening, do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive in the evening, and take from your health for your sickness, and (take) from your life for your death."

Sahih Al-Bukhari Vol 8 No. 425

Allaahu a'lam I don't know much about Yusuf Ali's translation, tapi ada desas-desus tentang penafsirannya yang salah. I spotted one, which is in surah al-Baqarah/255 whereby he translated "kursy" as "Throne", when it is not supposed to be that way. You can click here.

Personally for me, Dr Muhsin Khan's translation is supported with hadith (I think so is Yusuf Ali's), but Dr Muhsin has all these additional explanation with brackets which I trust more. Because arabic is a variety, Allaah has used many different words to describe what may be a single word in English, or a single Arabic word may mean a variety of things which people like me (lol) who don't really know arabic may not appreciate the Qur'an to the fullest.

I did go through the Qur'an index you sent me dan dah forward to a few sisters from TTI.. hope to send it to more people. It's really easy to use, cuma masalah data nya terlalu banyak so it has to be in zip file and hard to open. Oh well, sama ada nak atau tak nak je!
