If a person convert to Islam and say Shahadah, it doesn't matter what was the motivation or main reason for the conversion, that person then becomes elligible to go to Paradise eventually as compared to staying in Hell forever.
So one should NOT utter these words like "you shouldn't convert" or "You can not revert because of your friend" etc.
We need to be careful when we post these things and specially when we are communicating with a girl who is a Hindu and has no idea what Islam is or isn't, and she is asking "How will I convert?"
To my Hindu sister chimusocute:
Sister the Bhagvatgita is not the main books of the Hindus, the main scriptures are Vedas and Puranas. The old Hindu scriptures say that God is One. That you shouldn't make any image of him or make any status of him, MahaBharata or Gita were new additions in the Hindu scriptures and in my opinion are mostly stories and are not dependable.

In India you can see "Peace TV" on cable, so look for "Peace TV" on the cable and watch it if you can. But most importantly spend some time in studing Quran and you will see the truth yourself.

:salam2:salaam,With all due respect you are very wrong akhi!you should also not quote the sentence out of context and make people intend what they did not!go take a look at what happened to families to which becoming Muslim was only meant for the sake of first days love euphoria and being together, the euphoria slows down after sometime if the faith doesn t bind, am sure you know what am talking about,go check what happens to the children afterward,we have thousands of them lost to kuffr...this can turn out to be very dramatic,destroying whole lives of sacrifices that is why we have to be wiser and take all the considerations and factors involved into account before uttering such categorical statements. If one becomes Muslims he must be completely conscious of what he is doing ,words are nothing if the heart doesn t follow.All your other suggestions should be beneficial inshallah,Peace TV is great.

Mostly (over 90%) of times this happened when a Muslim man married to a Christian/Jew woman in a non-Muslim country and then they got separated later. But these women didn't have to become Muslim to marry on the first place, so this theory doesn't apply. And it is mostly the fault of the man who was careless about his religion and family.
All I am saying that we need to be careful that we do not turn people off.

Not necessarily true, a lot did become Muslims to be introduced to the parents and are still becoming Muslims today,or they say they would become,please bear in mind that christian and Jew nowadays is generally something completely different to what it used to be then, under secular societies and the hype of consumerism we have totally different circumstances,oftentimes for Muslim parents marrying a modern day christian or a Jewish woman is a no go !If the woman doesn t become Muslim.You d say it s cultural yes it is,but i think that is one area where culture doesn t really contradict the context we are living in islamicaly(am open to correction).So it did not happen only for women that did not revert.But even then akhi a woman who doesn t believe with understanding why she reverted is as if she did not revert at all which turns the whole situation to be potentially in the same category of those 90% you mentioned .

And up to now, what I can say about Islam is a beautiful religion. But you have to experience it yourself.
I think, when you finally decided to convert to Islam, you have already learned about it and found the beautiful things in it. Please convert because you love Allah, because you believe, have a faith that Mohammad swt is His prophet, because you are willing to obey and live in the path of Islam. Sis I've been in your situation before i came to Islam. My mother and some of my relatives are against on my revertion in Islam because they said Islam is blah blah blah ( bad images because of the people dont have enough knowledge on Islam). But I make i decision to revert in Islam in order to be with the man i Love ( my husband ) without even think that my relatives will hate me for the desicion i make... But i said to myself, I am old enough to make a desicion for myself and to choose what i want to be and to whom i want to be with and share my life till to my last breath. And Alhamdullillah I revert to Islam on the day of our wedding. I make my shahadah on friday after the Juma'ah and we've got married in the afternoon that day.
Sis chim, it depend on you and your husband how to use Islam and be a good slave/follower of God.If your husband is a practicing muslim, i will tell you if u convert to Islam without any knowledge on Islam and then if your husband will show you slowly by slowly what Islam really is and teach you the aspect of Islam....by that time sis chim,u will eager and thirst to learn more about Islam and after that you'll love the way you are after knowing the truth.
Sis this is what I am now... Thanks to Allah swt for giving me the person who show me the path and bring me near to God, Almighty. And now, were both continuing studying about Islam... Every Friday we attend a Islamic class with different subjects. And Alhamdullillah, Alhamdullillah i know now how to read a arabic Qur'an (slowly) hehehehe...

If I right, there is a story of Prophet Muhammad in the VEDA(THE BOOK OF HINDU). Muhammad as the last messenger. I suggest you to study this. Because, ISLAM is the right way...

but i m already very very close to god....i dont think there shd be a right time or place to pray...but wht is important....is u pray from bottom of heart....i really pray...till i cry....saying god u r grt....and i love him....
i do fast in our festival..and offer food...i do the same thing wht u do...u r telling me to learn islam to be near to god but i m already near to god....i did not need to change my religion just to showoff tht i m religious by covering myself..,and praying 5 times a day.....

"Do they not see that if there were many gods the universe would be in disarray."
There cannot be many Gods as the Hindu religion claims. There must be only One Creator as you can see, there is constant arguing and problems in governments because each person in power has different opinions. Yes, they do often times make it work but running the universe and creation is much more complicated.
There is only One God. The Creator and Sustainer. We must worship only Him alone. He created us and owns us and so He can tell us how to worship Him. It's not up to us.
Allah tells us in the Qu'ran that you must worship Him alone. The similitude of someone who worships other than Allah is like if a master buys a slave and tells the slave to work and the slave gives the harvest to someone else.
Allah tells us that the only religion He will accept is Islam. Of course you can choose not to follow it but worship is not accepted if it's not according to Islam.

Truly, by reading your posts, I know you are a girl who loves and prays to the God. There are no different Gods as you will know. Since the human era began, ALLAH (swt) (god) has sent different messengers to teach them the True religion. Human changed scripts and the Sharia (way to live). So as the last prophet, Muhammad (saw) is sent to the world with a perfect Sharia which cannot be canged until Aakhirah (the last day). Quran is sent as the last book and HE (swt) has mentioned in it that HE (swt) will protect it until Aakhirah (the last day).
As per Islam and Hinduism, they have many similarities. It is mentioned in the scripts of Hinduism that a last prophet will be sent, the name of last prophet (saw), the five pillars of Islam, the six pillars of Iiman (belief), Sujood (prostration) (commonly used for prayer), women to cover their body etc etc.
Respected Cimsocute, please try to find the reality of the above mentioned similarities by asking a good Pandit (sorry if this is not the correct word).
We believe there is only one God and I think you too. So it is not agreeing with commonsense if we say God has sent many Sharias (ways to live) in a particular one time. We know that there will not be any more messengers after Muhammad (saw). So it is up to us to find the last and the final way of life by looking for the differences and similarities of different religions. The only reason we need to be in Islam is because ALLAH (swt) (god) says in HIS last book (Quran) that no religion except Islam is accepted by HIM.
So my humble advice is to find a translation of Quran in your language and try to read little by little. You will inshaALLAH (with the will of ALLAH ) know the truth.
Dear Chimsocute, there will come a day where we will not have any help from our parents, friends and loving persons. So please try to find the truth and please do not hesitate to ask ANY questions that may arise.
I am not a scholar but I hope my humble words will help you. Hope to see you on the right path and may ALLAH (God) guide you.

Hinduism is the first practised in whole world....since 3000 yrs bc....tht means its 5000 yrs old....during tht time there was no other religion.....tht period was called brahma lok....were Lord Bramha made this universe and later on produced other Demi god like...Varuna(Rain God)....Goddess Laxmi(Money)....Shani Devta(Trouble).and many others....but all together the ultimate god is 111111111111!!!!!!!!!!!! (Happy)

Yep so true,religion is nothing but a way of life,given to us to by God to lead our lives.But the phrase 'submission to the will of God' which means Islam is even there in the Bhagwat Geeta!The place where Krishna explains the theory of Karma to Arjuna.
By the way in Islam we dont call it conversion,but reversion (as I had mentioned in my first post).
We call it reversion,because we believe that every human being is based in a state of purity i.e al-fitrah but it is his parents who convert him to other religions like Christianity,Judaism,Magnaism...etc.
So when someone embraces Islam i.e. submits himself to the will of God ,he is actually reverting to his state of purity and so we call it reversion not conversion.
You know the most wonderful thing is that all religion(or way of life) sprang from One true God,but human beings changed it to meet their interests,so God sent his final message to mankind through Muhammad(sallalhu alayhi wassallam),the message of Islam,i.e. submission to the will of God.
Still there there is no compulsion in religion,everyone is free to choose what he/she wills.

Surah Baqarah - 2:17
" Their likeness is as the likenessof one who kindleth fire, and when it sheddeth its light around him Allah taketh aay their light and leaveth them in darkness, where they cannot see: 18. Deaf, dumb and blind; and they return not.
