I did! More than once :) I guess many posts go unread until they are too old to show up. It's alright, there are many alert brothers and sisters on TTI, masha-Allah, who will catch things like that. Alhamdulillah.

As-salaamu `alaykum.

Nope, I didn't notice, otherwise I would've stickied your post as a new thread lol.

Was-salaam

...they have indeed praised them well.

The Messenger of Allah (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم) said, "If good is done to someone and then they say "Jazak Allahu khayran" to the one who did the good, they have indeed praised them well." [Tirmidhi]

This is an explicit hadeeth and we should accept it as it is without making any changes to it.

May Allaah (سبحانه و تعالى) give us the tawfeeq to stay on the 'short and narrow'. Ameen.

As-Salaam 3laikum Wa Ra7matullahi Wa Barakatu.

Many Muslims have now gotten the Habit of saying Jazak'Allah. But what does it Mean?

Jazak'Allah Means = " "May Allah Grant(or give) you"

It does not have any meaning to it, if it is said just like this.

You Have to Add something to It like for instance Jazak'Allahu Khair which Means "May Allah grant you with Good" This has a Meaning or:

Jazak'Allah Firdoos which Means "May Allah Grant you a High Station in Heaven"

If you only say Jazak'Allah it doesn't have any meaning to it.

Also you can not Say Jazak'Allahu Khair Insha'Allah. It is wrong, because when you say Jazak'Allahu Khair you are saying a Du'a and it is forbidden to say Insha'Allah after the Dua. or When you Say Ameen.

Niether can you say Ameen Insha'Allah .

or Jazak'Allahu Khair Insha'Allah.

Both are wrong.

As-Salaam 3laikum Wa Ra7matullahi Wa Barakatu

If you leave it at that, then Allah grants you whatever he thinks is best. When you say may allah grant you the highest level in jannah you're being specific, but when you say May Allah give you, you don't know what Allah will give that person, he will give them what he thinks is best, right?

Assalamou Alikom Warahmatou Allah,

Wrong brother!
from a pure linguistic point of view Jazak'Allah do have a meaning of its own even when it is said without specification!

In Arabic there is "Jazaa" (جزى) and "Jaazaa" (جازى). Both have the same meaning but Jazaa is implicitly understood for reward while Jaazaa could mean both reward and punishment.

In Jazak'Allah it is the second one which is used but that does not mean we have to specify the nature of Al-jaazaa since it could be very well understood from the context.

For example, one could say:
You've been so good to me, you helped me learn Arabic and now I am able to read Qur'an. Jaazak'Allah.
Here the nature of Al-jazaa is understood from the context to be synonyms of a reward even though
the nature of Al-jazaa has not been specified .

And Allah knows best,
Wassalam
