Assalaam walaikum,
I think this is yet another instance of the meeting of many cultures.
I'm no schooler but wasn't there something about there being a tribe and nation for each people and to go out and meet the people of all lands? Maybe I'm mistaken, being non-muslim I don't have the full understanding.
In reflecting most of the comments made about being emotional were directed towards me.
Don't be so humble Sister. You were just deflecting the rage from being aimed at me. So next time, it's my turn? Hmmm...We'll have to keep track....btw, "children meets hit-and-run"...just as a heads-up.
The article by Ms.Khan was the epitome of emotional wax poetica.
Wax poetica...I like that....
Muslims have a hard time accepting American Muslim women. We can take it but we can dish it out, too. And that is simply what I did. I questioned the myopic and simplistic article by a person who was disgruntled. In simple words..you are dishing out some heavy stuff now can you take the heat for what you wrote.
Exactly. Its quite easy to point the light into the darkness in front of you....but what if the darkness is inside you? It is hard to walk in light if you are covered in shadow. It takes courage and a willingness to change what is incorrect with your own self. I can't remember what passage it is but I remember it because it was so similar to what Christ said. Mohammad was talking about rectifying your debts....before you can ask Creator to forgive your debts, you have to make right what you own here. Leave the mosque and make right what you owe, then come back and make right with Allah...something along those lines.
When you strive to live a life filled with goodness and grace and in the service of the Creator, we tend to forget that even the dirt upon the floor was created by him and for a reason. We may not like it in our homes and we have the choice to allow it to stay, or remove it and keep it out. With diligence, the dirt can stay in it's place and you can stay in your's....Sister Aapa once likened it to weeding a garden. Faith is like that as well. Weed out the good so you can see the beauty around you....but those weeds have a purpose...they can make new fertile soil in which new flowers can grow.
No, I questioned the motives of an article written by a emotional woman.
Maybe she was hormonal...maybe someone just ran over her cat....who knows. It was irresponsible to take her anger out on people she doesn't even know though...just my opinion.
Relax people..its jumma and I'm going to the beach to reflect on the beauty of Creator. He made, yet , another day made in heaven. Funny thing ...it's right here in the good old USA. Now how about that. Peaceful, peaceful, peaceful peace.
...and in the morning, I will greet the sun for you...one giant circle. Now doesn't the world feel really small?
