...I just gotta share this...

Some brothers from the masjid & I are good friends. We got a good community. We're on each other's facebooks, txt each other, joke with each other on Yahoo. We don't usually sit together during the khutbah so that we can focus on what's being said, but afterwards we all jump into one car (usually mine, it has A/C :D ) and go grab something from one of the halal restaurants nearby.

Then when its time for Asr as brothers we form a line behind one person as imam and pray. Shoulder to shoulder, toe to toe with the guys I was just laughing and eating (and making wudu) with.

You just don't find that sort of unity in Christianity. At least, I can say for a fact I didn't. There's something special to me about that - I have no Muslim family, but to pray together with good friends ... it just can't be duplicated.

Just thought I would share that good thought :)

As salaamu 'alaikkum, hehe jazakallah khair for reminding me of my daily routine :p To be honest the only thing we are missing is driving around in a car since we are all broke :p but yet manage to put together money to eat lol ;) And yes the feeling is very special, and its something which cannot be found anywhere else, ma shaAllah. I thank and praise Allah subhana wa t'ala for all the blessings and calamities that He has decreed upon me....

Happiness = Islam
So Nice :)

You won't find this feeling in any religion , ONLY in Islam .. the best religion .

I've Christians friends - I know them via internet - they never use the words " my brother " and " my sister " , while we Moslims always use them .

These words have especial effect , make love between the Moslims increase more & more .

The same in my life , when I forget my money at home and need to buy something at school , my friend give me money and she refuse to take it back , she always say :" I'm your sister , it's a shame if money between sisters considered as debt "

And also when someone needs another one's help , all of my friends help the needed for Allah's sake .

" For Allah's Sake " this is a magic sentence it makes us spread the good on earth for our God's sake !

I liked your sharing , Thanks

MashaAllah brother Danyal, I can sense from your past few posts that you're mashaAllah becoming a true believer. You've chosen the right track by starting to learn about Islam and by finding yourself a good moslem company ,for these are by far the best means to reach a good understanding of the true spirit of Islam, its unity, love for the sake of Allah SWT and the peace of mind that automatically follows. your words did remind me of a hadeeth of the Prophet (peace be upon him) where he states that there are three conditions which, if a person feels, can make him feel the sweet taste of eman( faith): "that Allah and His Messenger are dearer to him than all else, that he loves a man for no other purpose than for the sake of Allah and that he hates to return to kufr after being saved from it in the same way that he would hate to be thrown into the fire."( Al Bukhari-Book of Faith)

It is this taste of eman for which we are all striving,so do your very very best not to lose it, stick to this company of yours and never turn your back against it no matter what coz it's with them that u are likely to be resurrected. Remeber it's that sweet taste which makes the bitterness of this life bearable. May Allah make everything easy for u.

Salam

Asslam'u Alykum brother Danyal,

It's awesome, Masha'Allah. Not many of us can experience this Muslim brotherhood. Your circle of friends is one of the best. The video you above posted always reminds me of the hadeeth in which Hadhrat Aysha (RA) mentions that Prophet Muhammad :saw: used to sit with them and enjoy etc (like you normally would with your friends) but as soon as Adhan was heard he would rush for Salaah leaving us like we were strangers. Subhan Allah, that's the kind-of link we all need with Allah Azwajal.

Hmm thank you but I've been a true believer since I took shahada 3 days before Eid al Adha last December... I've had moments, and these brothers (one in particular) have helped me through as I've helped them with theirs. Like me, they are reverts.

Its an ongoing process. I think many of my original issues were "growing pains", and frustrations due to what I felt were unfair expectations on me from the very community I now could never part with. I think they felt that since I "caught on" so quickly I should go from "new Muslim" to like the Sahaba overnight. But once we all realized our limits and they remembered I had been Muslim for less than a year, things became much more bearable.

I wouldn't say its our daily routine since most of us have full time jobs, its definitely our Friday routine...

I would say this is us:

(once again I don't know how to embed a video)

Lol I say daily routine because we all go to the same university, and come back home together etc, and we end up hanging around the restaurants for so long lol and we are standing and talking about some fatwas, and discussing it etc untill we realize its getting really late :)

For "embedding" video from youtube:

Step 1. Get the video ID.

Each youtube video has unique ID. Video ID is the the part of the link after "=" and before "&"in the youtube Link.

Sometimes there is no "&" in the Link, In that case the Video ID is the part of the Link after "="

A. For Example in the below Link, since there is no "&"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXSlpa6C5eY

The Video ID is gXSlpa6C5eY.

B. For Example in the below Link there is "&" -->
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_HzH...eature=related

So, the video ID is v_HzHjklAKc.

Step 2. type [ yt]
(Without any space between "[" and yt)

Step 3. type [ /yt]
(Without any space between "[" and /yt)

Step 4. Copy the Video ID between them, without any spaces.

[yt ]Video ID Here[/yt ]

[yt ]v_HzHjklAKc[/yt ]

Brother ,
i can totally relate with you .
being a born muslim we used to take it for granted -but as we hv grown up and seen more of the world -we now realize how extraordinary that feeling is and then its not just a feeling its a brotherhood.and its true ,as one of my friends who had a break up was telling me-i hv seen much of life -there isn't really anything in it -its just Allah and your muslim brothers who make life worth living.and it wasnt a complaint he was beaming with joy for having discovered this.

then moving out from my small muslim city in india to a bigger one and coming face to face with kufr life where everybody is lonely even in the crowded places and laughter is empty and sickening.
and friendship means having beer together and fun -someone looked at me as if to say u dont drink u dont hv fun.

and i thought wallah if u had seen me with my friends having tea together on a serene ramzan night after having said our taraweeh prayers then go for a drive in our vehicles in the cool breeze discussing about islam ,Allah and other muslkims in other parts of the world --you would know what faith is ,what life is and what love for Allahs sake is.

the only thing that beats this is the love of sahabah (companions of the prophet ) and how they worked together and fought together and often attained jannah together.
subhanallah.

when i read youre thread, i remembered the following verse:

"Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; and those who are with him are strong against unbelievers, (but) compassionate amoungst each other. you will see them bow and prostrate themselves (in prayer), seeking grace from Allah and (His) good pleasure...." surah al-hujurat 49:29

:salam2: Brother!

SubhanaAllah! I can relate to you! it's so beautiful to have such brothers (or sisters as in my case:))
it's an amaazing feeling which I for one thing cannot express in words! subhanaAllah!
you know I have not felt that before I started practicing Islam. I think it also depends on who you hang out with most of the time. When I was not practicing, I went to the movies with my friends, our talks was about dumb stuff, and we rarely remembered Allah...sometimes we used to share the latest songs:astag: but when I started practicing all has changed DRAMATICALLY! subhanaAllah! and now, I am PROUD to call my friends *SISTERS!* whom I LOVE SO MUCH FOR ALLAH'S SAKE! and I AM BLESSED TO HAVE THEM! subhanaAllah....
since we're girls we're not of "resturant people" our place is eachother's house and Masjid! and it's beatiful! every second I spend with them is PRECIOUS in it's own way! subhanaAllah:D:D:D
now we share lectures instead of Music, talk about Allah or ask Islamic questions to one another intead of "nonesensical talks" and most of all remind each other about Allah! it's beautiful! subhanaAllah!
well, I can fill up a whole page talking about this lol but I will stop here....
Oh and may Allah bless you and reward you for sharing. May Allah increase the love between you brothers, shade ya'all on a day there aint no shade, and keep you all on the path of truth!ameen, ameen, ameen
HAPPY EID TO YOU BROTHER!
