Studies?

Asslamo Allaikum,

Where do I start?

I have a Diploma in Hunan Relation and Psychology, majoring in Crimminology. ( I used to be a Senior Prison Officer, Special Operations).
A Certificate in Justice, and until recently sat on the Bench hearing Summary offences and Commital Hearings

Diploma in natural Therapies and Counselling, Specialising in Terapeutic massage, Substance Abuse and relationship Counselling. Wish I could have used it on myself.

Studies in Theology at Seminary College. Didn't finish, couldn't see myself as being called Father Anthony.

Diploma in I.T. and Business, specialising in Computer technology and Software. Mercantile Law. with qualifications in Finance and Credit Control

I have also studied at University level, Forensic Anthropology, Historiography and the Social Sciences.

I am now studying the Quoran.
I am self employed as a Full Time father to my 13 year old Daughter.(Her Mother abandoned us).
A voluntary teacher and Counseller to the poor, the Aged, Migrants and the unemployed.

I do not work per se', my government pays me enough money to live and raise and educate my child, so I give it back to the community. I am Humbled and thankful that I can do this for the people.
I love all Humanity, I may not love what they do, but that does not change things. From the lowest to the greatest among us, each is deserving of Love, charity and support when in need.

Apart from my occasional forays into Foreign Wars, as an Aid Worker. I have led an interesting life.
I hope my next life is a little less exciting.

Salaam my friends

Salam,

Many years ago I earned a degree in Psychology and a masters in human development and education. I have worked as a regular education teacher, adult edcuation teacher, special education teacher, college professor, IT saleswoman, store clerk, social worker, and family, individual, and marriage counselor.
My greatest accomplishment would be that Allah gave me two wonderful sons and a lovely husband.
My goal is to serve Allah as He wishes.
I often feel awkward in writing to you because I feel the age difference. I want to thank everyone that takes the time to read my responses. I have been very fortunate because I have had the richness of life. And I can assure you that life gets better as you get older..each day you know you are one day closer to meeting Allah.

'And I can assure you that life gets better as you get older'

Really? i only hear old people complaining, 'i wish i was 20 yrs younger'
Maybe you have more wisdom, cos im getting that from you, not that im saying your old or anything.

Salam,

I am 51 years old. Allah has given me a wonderful life. If I could turn back the clock then I would not be able to understand the tapestry that has been my life. Each experience has made me what I am today. If you would be kind enough to think with me for a minute: Allah has given us this temporary life...we are born...we...live...we die...and then it is eternal life...why would I want to stop this process..is not life really waiting for the angle to put the book of record in your right hand...Inshalla, the angle is busy writing at this moment.

:salam2:

I started school in Sweden, studying all of primary, secondary and GCSE.
Then I came to the UK and managed by the Grace of Allah to do my A-levels and did ok Allhamdulillah.

I then went on to study Medical Engineering at University for 3 years, graduated and applied to study Medicine the same year. I got a place on a competitive course, a fast-track medical course running for 4 years and am almost finishing off my 1st year Allhamdulillah. I had always wanted to study medicine and MAshaAllah it really is one of the most amazing subjects. However it takes too much of my time at the moment as I'm doing 2 years in 1 for the first year and I hope it'll slow down in 2nd year. That the main problem and that's the downside def. It takes too much of my time.

MashaAllah i'm very impressed by the educational level of the brothers and sisters on the site. But the most important education undoubtedly is Islaam and those of you who have strived harder in this are doing better than me. InshaAllah I would like to travel and study in an islamic country after this. make dua for me.

take care,
:wasalam:

:salam2: i love to play piano too. i'm just a self-learner and i do learn some computer music and dealing with virtual sampler. well, i wouldn't dare to say music is totally haraam or halal because this issue is still a khilaf. Some people say it's haraam because it is majority of the scholar opinions. so i wondering 'majority' of scholars in the US, Europe, or the world?

I fear Allah and i dont' dare to decide what is halal or haraam. Because whoever legalised something which is haraam or vice versa should deserve punishment in Akhirat. Because the verse in Quran about prohibiting music is still debatable and has different opinions. So i leave myself with no comment.

anyway, music is not totally haraam in my country Malaysia. and many nasheed groups from malaysia perform singing with music, we have one of the very famous group called Raihan.

i'll try to avoid and give up those noisy music and contemporary pop. Because i just bought a second hand grand piano at my home, i don't think just leave it there right away.... so maybe i just play it in leisure time.

i believe no matter what we do we must do it only for Allah, and with positive aim. And Allah is the ultimate Judge, He is the one to decide what is right or wrong.

this is making me want to study! i mean i do of course im doing A levels at the mo but it is easy to lack the motivation sometimes
im studying chemistry biology and history it sounds a weird combination but ive always loved history from a young age

yknow how people make fun of muslims how it always ends up as 'doctor or engineer or computer science :)' well that cannot be said for us lot at TTI theres so much diversity in fields.

but i do feel we have 'muslim doctor overflow' and need to halt on them and go into politics etc were in desperate need for scholars awell

id love it but have the wrong subjects cos i thought medschool was for me :(

pray for me brothers and sisters and pls dont forget all of u.
i will pray for u also tht u have every success in ure endeavours and Allah put barakah in ure time inshallah.

Salam Oualekoum Sisters and Brothers!!!

I've created this thread just to have a little overview of the different degrees or knowledge the members of this site have. I think some of you study law, science, medecine, mathematics, history, or religion (MashAllah) etc...

The Qu'ran is a incredible Book that deals with History, Law, Economics, Science, Geology, Biology, Sociology, Theology etc that's why I think our community must do the same. Allah wants us all, males and females, to seek knowledge, to learn, because the more we understand the world we live in, the more we know Allah, and the more we love Him INSH ALLAH!!!

So I'm going first :

I'm an Telecommunication Engineer, I started working a year ago after graduating with a master degree of science and telecommunication. I thank God for this.

May Allah guide us all.

i have two years of highschool and this is my third year inshAllah i am shooting for a diploma!

Music & Woman!

W-Salam,

I also used to play Piano, KB & Guitar.

However it reached a point where it started to affect my relationship with Allah (SWT) so I quit; I am ashamed to say that I continued to play despite people telling me that it was HARAM!

In my opinion there are two things which have a devastating impact on a man:

1) Woman
2) Music

Its just a matter of when Allah (SWT) gives the person the realisation of it.

WaMaa Taufiqi Illa Billah!

Asalamu Alykum,

Until i found out it was concrete Haram to listen to music, i just deleted it all and did like a pretend spit on it. <-----(I dont know why i did that :)

Personally im happy i got rid of it because listening/reading the Quran is a lot more beneficial. Its difficult to describe music but i will keep it as trash/rubbish for now.

It can be difficult to get rid of it, but once you do and get in a routine of doing something else that is beneficial you will relise it was a great decision, which it seems like you have so Alhamdulilah.

Alhamdulilah
