is Islam really easy?

ever wondered:

if we had 10 prayers each with 10 rakaats daily...

if we had 2 months fasting and each fast of 2 consecutive days...

if we had to pay 25% as zakat...

if Hajj was obligatory every year...

if there was no room for repentence for sin....

if good deed was to be rejected due to lack of perfection....

so is not Islam an easy religion?

so is not Allah Most-Merciful, Most-Forbearing, Most-Patient?

Even it is not how you wrote, so many of people find Islam difficult. You made everything double :) But many people that I know think 5 time pray is too much, 1 month fasting is too long, amount of zakaat is unbelievable :p etc..

However the understanding of difficulty changes according to from which window you look..

If we analise this list with an objective eye, we ll see each of them has a tranqual effect, a beautiful side in it.

For example even not looking from religion side, we know praying regulary in the day makes person healthy as body & mind, and this increase your performance even..

An other common example is fasting; researchers proved that fasting makes the body get rid of whole bad effects of foods and this makes the body refresh.

We can add so many examples to these.. I mean the difficulty is in the understanding, in the mind & heart.. there is no difficulty in practice :) If we can understand what we are doing actually, everything comes easy and even beautiful :)

PS: Alhamdullah Allah SubhanAllah Teala is the MOST MERCIFUL and HE knows us better than ourselves , and all these arent double :) :)

Alhamdulillah, Islam is easy. It's just that sometimes we become lazy though. :|

May Allah have Mercy on us all. Ameen.

Islam is not hard, its the people that make it hard.
Ive been noticiing something , we as humans being have indulged so much into the worldly things that anything that takes us away from it is a pain for us. With all the technology, computer, TV's, Video Games etc we have become really lazy and people think all these simple task are too much.

:) I think before people used to adjust life according to islam, now they have started to adjust islam according to Life , and are still trying to make islam less prevalent in their daily life.

Say subhanallah 100 times: 1000 good deeds, or 1000 sins taken away
Surah al ikhlas : a lot more than I can count (especially when fasting)
Not having perfection in salat: The optional salat act like a cushion
Smiling at your brothers and sisters: Counted as charity
etc. etc. etc.

Nope.....not a hard Religion to me at all

People always say Islam is difficult... Islam isn't something u have to set time for in doing or something that takes ur time. People have this misunderstanding that Islam must be incorporated into their daily lives when it's supposed to be that their lives must be incorporated into Islam that way Islam becomes the way you live. It's a burden to someone when they think... I have a million things to do... Then I'll
pray if I'm not tired... Subhanallah I hope I'm just talking jibberish.. But Islam is a way of our lives and the way we want life to be...

Allahuma lek alhamd ala deen alislam!!!

I humbly beg to differ with you brother. Yes, Allah (swt) has definitely made "practicing" Islam "easier" and every small good deed has its bountiful rewards.

However, "easy", is a relative term. What is easy for you, may not be easy for your next door neighbor. Praying 5 times a day may be "easy" for you (alhamdulillah, i hope you are in good physical health), but what about those people who are physically challenged, partially or completely? People who are dependent on others for their daily activities? Praying 5 times is still obligatory on them.

I have so many thoughts running, that I could end up writing up a whole essay (of course based on my opinions). But I will say this.

Brother, ahmed-indian, you have upscaled the circumstances and wondered. Have you wondered, the opposite?

if, we had to pray only 2 times a day and 2 rakah per prayer?
if, we have to fast only for 15 days and for only for 7 hours per day?
if, we have to pay zakah for only 1% instead of 2% on our savings (not income)

would then the muslim ummah proportionately increase in numbers or be proportionately steadfast in practicing Islam?

Al Qur'an Verse(5:3);
"This day have I perfected for you your religion and completed My favor to you and chosen for you Islam as your religion.."

Allah has perfected the religion for us brother. He is the all-knower and all- wise. He has his reasons. We are mere mortals. We cannot comprehend, even an iota of, his reasoning.

Islam shows us the "straight/right" path. And by no means will it be an "easy" path. Every second of your journey on this path is tried and tested.

I personally, rather than contemplating how hard/easy Islam is, would concentrate on striving to stay steadfast to the right path.

Jaza Kallah.

First and foremost it is us humans who like to complicate things for ourselves. Am not certain if this is the right example but wearing the niqaab is above the normal requirement of hijab. Although i must say to those who wear it for the right reason with good intentions feel some source of... should i say freedom? A certain peace from within.

Then again as our brother said, everyone has their own challenges. What may deem easy to you may be difficult for another...eg maybe you are fasting for 12 hours, another 15... weather challenges... different jobs eg working in the heat... or in terms of salat... those who are constantly on the move eg pilots they have to deal with time challenges... even with fasting.

The nafs and shaytan interrupts us in all angles from doing what we are supposed to do... delaying or skipping salah, fasting just with the stomach and not the whole body etc etc...

The world is heaven for the kaafir and hell for the mu'mins ( i believe this is a hadith? unsure=). Temptations and tests are there...each one in their own way... making it seem that Islam is difficult. But with patience and perseverence... may Allah not deny us Jannah El Firdaus. Amin

dont want to change the topic but sometimes niqaab is part of hijaab. scholars say that if there is fear of temptations, u have to wear niqaab.

in these days with lustful eyes and impure hearts...its better to wear one (of course, i know its not easy in societies with anti-muslim sentiments). but i cant blame those sisters...infact i can only pray for their blessed lives.

Yes i do agree, especially with temptations and all. However, There are some places where niqaab is forced upon you. I can't say how right or how wrong this is... If it's your own will that's ok... but we have been permitted to show the face and the palm of our hands. It's the forcing that makes it complicated IMO.

Actually the hadeeth says, "This world is a prison for the believer and a heaven for the disbeliever."

This world can be a heaven for the believer too. God says in the holy Quran,

"Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward according to the best of what they used to do." (16:97)

But, it can also be a hell, for God says,

"And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind." (20:124)

Thank you for enlightening me brother.

Islam is easy.
Being a Muslim is hard. Particularly in the west.

Other Americans dislike because we're one of the "Enemy". Most born Muslims distrust us because they think we're FBI (particularly heavily Pakistani masajid) and refuse to even let their shoulders/feet touch us in salaat.

I have met many wonderful human beings that are a tribute to Muslims everywhere, including a few here on this site. But I've also met some that after talking to them make me feel like I'm the lowest of the low.

Praying 5 times a day is easy.
Fasting is easy (for the most part...!)
Paying Zakat is easy.
Doing Hajj...well, when Allah makes it happen for me.

The biggest challenge to my faith are also my biggest supporters: my brothers. I've had one or two who have hounded me so badly about EVERYTHING in my life that I stopped going to the masjid for weeks at a time.

But Islam is a beautiful and wonderful religion, easy to follow and easy to believe. Its just some Muslims that sometimes make it hard :)
