I too was introduced to Islam by a Muslim man who I met on the internet. I feel so much love for this man who I have not yet met in person. He never forced me to believe in Islam but gently persuaded me to "just read the Quran" which I have been doing.

I was baptised Catholic and Mormon but I dont follow the Christian faith although I have always believed that Jesus was the son of God. This has been the hardest thing for me to give up in my mind. What helped me to accept Jesus as a Prophet like all the other Prophets and NOT as the begotten son of God is what I read that we are trained by our parents to believe in certain aspects of different religions. So with that in mind I really asked myself. I searched my heart and found that I had no proof whatsoever that what I was taught all my life was in fact the TRUTH. When I did that my mind (and heart) was opened and I began to understand everything I am reading in The Holy Quran.

I recently started to read the life of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) and have accepted that he truely is a messenger of Allah. Ok so now I feel almost ready to take Shahada but.................I read the posts here. It made me doubt my true intentions once again. I had to ask myself "if it were not for this man who I am in love with would I care about Islam?" and "if something happened that I didnt end up with this man who I am in love with will I still believe in Islam?" In other words "am I doing all of this just for HIM or for MYSELF?"

These are tough questions and I cant pray about it because my prayers are not accepted by Allah and I am so afraid that it wont be Allah answering them if I was to pray but rather Shaitan answering them. WHAT CAN I DO? How can I get the answer I need to this very serious question? And Im afraid (terribly afraid) of what my answer will be. The man I love asked me this same question and I answered that I believe in Islam and even without him I will continue in it but Im not sure if thats the truth or just what I want to believe. This topic has brought some serious issues to the forefront of my mind and I dont have the answers I need.

So I guess my question is the same as the topic starter "HOW WILL I REVERT?" Everyone currently in my life is totally against me reverting to Islam. EVERYONE except this man who I love so much but have not yet even met in person. I feel so alone.

You are not alone sister....... we are with you...... we are always there to help you out in any way whatsoever possible....... don't for a moment think you are alone......

:salam2: sister...

You are totally different from the topic starter sister. You read the Quran, Hadith and other books to find the truth with an open mind. But the topic starter afraid of losing her FALSE religion if she read Quran. There are many and many sisters and even brothers who are converted because they knew the truth from their potential wife or husband. Not blindly like what topic starter wanted to do. But after an open minded research.

I like to ask you a question. Did you find any mistakes in Quran?

Sister many brothers and sisters are converted because of a good friend they have. Just keep praying and move step by step. InshaALLAH you will get what you want. Accepting friends' advice and doing research is not worshiping them (Shirk).

May ALLAH (swt) show and keep you firm in the true path. amiin.

:salam2: Dear sister Tree2008, I am just catching up on this thread at the end of the afternoon in Paris :) You are a diamond in the rough as Brother Ayman said :) This search for truth and self-examination is what everyone should do to find their path. We owe that to our Creator. As you continue to study Qur'an and Islam, please post any questions to your family on the TTI forum. I reverted to Islam 17 years ago and it would have been a great help to me back then to have something like TTI :) I feel that now, finally, I am on a steep learning curve about Islam and everything that I learn just reaffirms why I was drawn to Islam, the fastest growing religion in the world today against all odds, :ma: Keep learning and may Allah bless you, sister :)

It made me doubt my true intentions once again.

It is only Satan that makes people doubt themselves. He was created to put doubts in peoples minds. He has tricked & deceived many. The Quran's opening chapter starts out, "This is the Book of which there is no doubt."

Rest assured, the more you read about Islam, the simplicity & logic behind it, the more you'll be convinced by yourself. You'll know it's the Truth when it rests in your heart gently. You come across as a sincere person with a gentle heart & inshallah (God willing) you will find it. God Almighty has promised in the Quran that "Truth stands clear from error" (2:256). And it is only the wise ones that accept Islam as the Truth, their creed and way of life.

I feel so alone

Islam is the home to 1.6 billion Muslims on Earth. You have Muslims brothers & sisters around the globe and people reverting to Islam every day :) Of course this shouldn't be the reason why you would want to revert to Islam, but it shouldn't be totally disregarded either. We're here to help you anytime, inshallah.

Islam began as a stranger & it will return back as a stranger. The importance of Taweed (the Oness of Allah) was strange, the customs of charity, having no compulsion in religion, listening to your parents, having love & respect for the youth & elders were strange to the people of that time & still is to some people today! So prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Give glad tidings to the stranger." A diamond in the rough or a flower in desert - you truly are.

Your Sister In Islam
Salam alaykoum.

Dear sister,
you are here for a reason, you told your story and you came here for advise right? well I have read each and every comment that has been written to you, and nearly each one of them, start with the sentence: "salam alaykoum" = "peace be upon you". They have answered you with respect and are willing to help you further, so am I by the way. But it seems like you don't agree with what's been said, and your answers back are written in an angry mood. They are not forcing you to revert, but are giving you the main reasons for why you Should revert, and it's not to please your boyfriend, nor losing your family, but rather, because Islam is the last and truthful religion.
Anyway sister, I wish you the best in life, hopefully also in the afterlife.
salam.

PS: to sister Tree2008, welcome to tti:) I have read you post, and I'm happy to know that you believe in the holy Quran, and are considering reverting to Islam. May Allah protect you and each and every muslim. You're right you know, you're not alone, you have Allah by your side, and the Ummah behind your back.

salam wa rahmat allah wa barakatou.

Assalam-o-alikum,
Dear Chimu,

Please watch this video of this young Hindu man, you may find it helpful:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?d...GFaGI-gGGlYSJBA&q=Hindu+revert+to+islam&hl=en

Just remember that Allah ahs created this universe as a test center, you and me and every human who ever came to this earth, the main purpose for our creation is to participate in this test regarding how we conduct our lives on earth. All the deeds even the most secret thougths and acts are recorded.
Then when the hour will come, Allah will terminate this test center, every thing which exists in this universe will vanish and then Allah will re-create this universe but with different set of laws, all human beings will be resurrected at the same time and will be judged. Those who will fail will go to Hell Fire and those who will pass will go to the Paradise and they will live for-ever.

Nearly all religions specially Jewish and Christian say the same thing.

So when the stakes are so high that worshiping a wrong God would mean buring in Hell-Fire then one needs to be very careful. Just try this: put your hand on stove fire just for 10 seconds... ok just 5 seconds... okay make it just 3 seconds. Can you hold it that long? If you can't then how you can risk that your whole body, I repeat the WHOLE BODY, be burning in a fire hotter than this stove fire, and not just for a few seconds but for a very very long time.

Why anybody wants to risk that? See just because one's parents are Hindu doesn't mean that Hindu gods are actually Gods? Instead of cultural bias and arrogance the best thing to do is to study and then decide what is right and what is wrong.

Majority of the people here on this forum were born in a non-Muslim families. They probably hated Islam, but then when they saw the truth they didn't care about their family background or culture and accepted the truth.

Do you think God will reward these people or those who followed their ego and culture and tradition, and didn't use their intellect and brain to find and accept the truth.

Read the Quran and if you find it not true then fine ... but atleast you owe it to youself to attempt it.
I am saying this as a friend of yours.

Wassalam.

Hello.

First of all, if you know what the Truth is, you should follow it. No matter what your family says or upon what your ancestors were. For verily, the Truth from the Creator of all creation has to be obeyed even if all of humanity would be against you. For verily, He will guide you and He will be sufficient for you.

Secondly, you have to learn about Islaam. The most important thing in Islaam is Tawheed (Oneness of Allaah (God)). "Laa ilaaha illallaah" (none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah). And you have to know why Islaam is the Truth from the Creator of the heavens and the earth. And that Muhammad Ibn 'Abdullaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is the last Messenger of Allaah (Almighty God).

Very important, interesting and beneficial lectures. You must listen/watch them! It'll make things very clear. So this is the first which I advise you to watch/listen to.

Just because a religion is old doesn't make it right. Islam is the oldest though because it was the religion of the FIRST HUMAN, Adam (AS).

To you is your religion and to to me is my religion. God will decide between us on the Day of Resurrection. If you feel happy with your religion then do what you feel is right, the message has been given to you and that's our only responsibility.

Dear brothers and sisters,
:salam2:

Turning somebody's heart towards Islam is not in our hands. All we can do is to perform da'wah with the best of manners. With this mail, I want to express my gratitude to all those who have taken part in the discussion. I would have thought that Hinduism is a difficult terrain for muslims because mostly we are busy talking with christians or atheists. However, I am very positively surprised by the level of discussion in this thread. May Allah reward brother Zakir Naik for his efforts, who, I think takes the credit of this increased level of awareness about hinduism.

Strength in Unity
Oh Really....can u give me proof tht Quran is written by ur Allah!!!....
It might be written by an old arab man in desert.....???

the Quraan is a revelation from Allah to his messenger Muhammad PBUH.. now u say how do we know its not written by a human?? first, the Quraan exists for more than a thousand years.. Muhammad PBUH used to be an illetrate when Quraan was being reveiled to him... so how could he have made such beautiful words...in that sense how could any human have made such a book..the Quraan talks in general about everything, from how to live to the hereafter, it shows the sign of God.. it talks of the unseen world, of the stories of other prophets... even me, i didnt really look into the meaning of the Quraan, but recently i have been looking at the meaning, not just reading it.. everything makes sense..
there are a lot of people who want to fabricate, say false things about islam which are never true..
also you are very welcomed here :)

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh to dear Chimu, brothers and sisters...

Wow... you've got many reaction for your thread haven't you?! :)
It makes me smile thou.... debating, debating and debating. I think we all have to calm down a bit now. I think you've got so many reaction due to the title of your thread "How will I convert". All the people here at TTI just want to help you and guide you to find the rightest way, like they are helping me. But it's all up to us whether we would embrace it or not. Of course for moslems, Islam is the true religion, for Christians, Christianity is the true religion. ... as for you Hindu is the true religion, the way of live life as you said. But I kinda wondering, you seemed very sure about Hinduism, your religion, then why asked "how will I convert?".... am a lil bit confused here :)

A buddy of mine from this site wrote me this:
"If Allah wants to favor someone, He grants him comprehension (understanding) of this religion."
[Sahih Bukhari vol.1 # 71, Tirmidhi and Musnad Ahmad]

So, I think if you feel like to learn Islam then learn about Islam with an open heart, no judgements,.... and after you learned it you have a faith to embrace Islam, then embrace it with your heart, because you love Allah and not for something elses than that. But if after learned it you thought... well.... I don't think Islam is for me, than at least you've learned something :)

How about that dear Chimu? .....

Best regards :)

Hi Chimu and welcome to TTI, i'm new here myself. i just want to say that as many brothers and sisters have stated above, you should revert to islam only if you understand it and want to with your own will and conciousness. i can understand that you really want to be with your friend, however it is too early for you to revert to islam if you havent understood it well.

in the above quote you have expressed that you do not wish to become a muslim yet your thraed title says 'how will i convert?'. you musn't base your decision on the religion islam just because you have been affected by what some people may have said to you, i mean you havent even studied the religion.

goodluck with being a master in 'bhagvatgeet', that is if you also study the quran, you may seem to see then what is logic and what makes sense.

i just want to say do not make hasty decisions if you havent understood its concept and embraced it for its purity. Becoming something for the sake of others is not your belief!

wish you the best!

Sister the Bhagvatgita is not the main books of the Hindus, the main scriptures are Vedas and Puranas. The old Hindu scriptures say that God is One. That you shouldn't make any image of him or make any status of him, MahaBharata or Gita were new additions in the Hindu scriptures and in my opinion are mostly stories and are not dependable.

As-salamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu

Sorry to go off topic, but is this true that these Hindu books preached monotheism??!?

I did not know this, so there are Hindus who are not polytheists??

i'M very confused about this.

Islaam is based on the oneness of God, in Arabic - Allaah.
Muslim is the one who surrenders him/her completely to Allaah alone.
There is no way that a Muslim can misinterpret the rulings given by Allaah and His prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him).

Therefore, sister, reverting the truth should be within your heart, not to show your loved one.

Please read Qur'an, without doubt it will guide you to the right path. Insha Allaah.

:salam2:

hmmmm.... i read all the posts in this thread, and we might all think that it was futile wasting our time to respond to chimusocute's comments while she's adamant with her belief but guess what, it just made tree2008 sister's belief in islam much stronger :) Alhamdulillah . Allah does work in miraculous ways :) SubhanaAllah.

Chimusocute i hope u research all the religions thoroughly with an open mind and make ur decision and not follow blindly a religion because your born into that. There's no compulsion in islam. Since you asked how to convert, the muslim bros and sisters here just adviced u, that if you wanna convert, don't convert because of your boyfriend, but convert because you understand the truth abt islam. If you think hinduism is the truth, tell me why are all hindus only from India? Maybe God did send a messenger to the people of indus valley, and guided the people to the truth thru the messenger, but that was only for that period and for that specific group of people. After Prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him) proclaimed his message of islam which God commanded him to do, it was for the whole world. Not just for the arabs. So Hinduism or any religion for that matter won't be accepted by God except islam. Wish you all the Best in this Life.

P.s. Don't insult Allah because Allah means God in arabic, so if you do, ur just insulting your belief of one GOD as well.
